>> [Dan Ackerman:] Hi, I'm Dan Ackerman and we're here today with a laptop that you've probably never heard of even though it's quite nice. It's the Toshiba Satellite E105. Now this is a retail-exclusive laptop. You can only get this at Best Buy, and that's because it's part of that store's blue label program. What they did there was they surveyed their customers and then they went to their laptop makers and they said, "Hey, our customers want a laptop with this, this and that, and they're willing to pay this much, so put all that together, and we'll put it on our shelves, and we will sell it." And what we ended up with is this E105 that has a bunch of, kind of, pretty cool features that you normally wouldn't find in a 799 laptop. Most important of which is this backlit keyboard which you usually only see in laptops over a thousand dollars if at all, and it's one of those things that you don't really realize you need, but once you have a backlit keyboard, it's really hard to go back. It's actually very useful, especially if you're laptopping while watching TV in a dark room or something like that. You also get a row of touch-sensitive media control buttons and some nice extras like an HDMI port and an E-SATA port. Aside from that it's a fairly standard Intel dual core laptop. The speakers a little bit on the tinny side, but the battery life is great: a little more than four hours on our tests. So while it's not super-thin or super fancy-looking, it does pack some higher-end features into a very mid-priced system. And that's why we're big fans. I'm Dan Ackerman and that's the Toshiba E105.
