Top 5 ways 'Wonder Woman' saved the DC movie universe
Here are the top five ways Wonder Woman saved the DC movie universe.
By now, you should have seen the Wonder Woman movie and if you haven't, you might want to avoid this video because there might be some spoilers.
I'll pause right here for a second.
Still there?
Great, lets get to it.
At number five, it's colourful.
Wonder Woman is a part of DC's trinity.
The other two in that trinity are Superman and Batman.
When you take a look at Man of Steel and Batman versus Superman, you're in a world of darkness and desaturated colors.
The Wonder Woman movie shows the island of Finiskar in lush colors.
Even the darker scenes are more vibrant than other DC movies.
This should be a sign of what Warner Brothers wants to do with its DC films since Wonder Woman is a major player in DC's universe.
At number 4, it was focused.
The Wonder Woman movie tells a story in a logical, deliberate way.
While there's a whole bunch of new characters, they were well defined and moved the story along.
As for the story, it doesn't try to do too much for one movie.
Here's hoping this is the start of a trend and not a one-off.

And number 3, it's hopeful.
Other DC films have lacked a sense of hope and positivity.
Instead of everyone being glum and sad and all emo, the characters in this film are trying to make things better for the world.
Look, I don't mind if a movie ends on a down note, but when you're trying to get an audience to watch movie after movie, You need some motivation to get back in the theater.
And number two, Wonder Woman actually has humor.
The movie focuses on a warrior joining forces with the allies in World War 1. That is a heavy topic.
However, they're more laughs and jokes in this movie than any other DC movie.
And they're not cheap jokes either.
Imagine that.
Smiling about a DC movie.
Now, before we get to number one, let's talk about three reasons why Wonder Woman did not save DC's movie universe.
It's just one movie.
One good movie does not define a trend.
Then, there's the whole next movie thing.
Justice League is slated for November.
Everything that made Wonder Woman successful could easily be undone by a really big team up movie.
And lastly, it wasn't great.
I liked the Wonder Woman movie, and it's definitely the best of the DC bunch right now.
However, the film didn't do anything new or exciting to make people forget about the other DC movies in the [UNKNOWN] Enough with the doomsay.
Let's get back to the countdown.
And at number one, this movie was grounded.
The Wonder Woman film used the Steve Trevor character as a way for the audience to relate to Wonder Woman's world.
So when Trevor doesn't understand something, he asks.
Then, the audience learns things in a natural way that lets us connect to the characters.
In my opinion, in this current DC movie world, there's a huge lack of connection to the heros.
Wonder Woman properly built a connection to the audience, that could draw in audiences to the next DC movie.
