>> We're here to celebrate the birth of a new platform, a new device, a new system, and a new set of services that we believe will begin changing.
>> Today, we are continuing our strong addition at DiGi Telecom and T-Mobile of being pioneers to open mobile internet. With today's event, we are launching the world's first Android-Based Mobile Phone.
>> Developer will be able to use it as a platform and they'll be able to develop their application on the Android platform. But also because of its openness, the developer will be able to modify the platform, make the platform better. Therefore, because the platform is open, we think Android is somewhat feature proof.
>> Consumers who have a desire to connect and really use the internet have really not found the mobile internet up to this point be very compelling. We're gonna change all that. So, how we're gonna do that?

>> First of all Cole Broadman, can you tell us a little bit more about pricing and availability.
>> Thanks David. Pricing for the T-Mobile G1 Google will be 179. Starting today, existing T-Mobile costumers in limited quantity can order them over the internet. There'll be a micro site available that we'll publish the links for that during this press conference. They can order it, have it shipped to their home as soon as the product becomes available on stores. The commercial launch date would be October 22nd and will be available around all selected T-Mobile retail stores and markets and third party dealers. Last quick point is that we're very excited to bring innovation on the pricing side as well, a lot of two very compelling data messaging plan options for consumers to purchase to use the device will be a 25-dollar option with a limited web internet usage and some messaging and there'll be a 35-dollar option which includes unlimited messaging and a limited mobile web and internet.
>> Is there will going to be a desktop application for sinking all the applications and all the pictures and all of everything else that's gonna be on the phone?
>> The device is really in an encapsulated mobile and network service, so there's not a desktop application initially. All the synchronization will happen in the back end same mostly with the device in the network.
>> What really gives me pleasure with this launch of the G1 for T-Mobile is I'm bit of geek and I really like tinkering with things. You know the way I grow up and playing in college and grad schools, computer is being able to write my own programs and you mess around with Linux and just touch all parts of the system. I got that same kind of pleasure playing with Android on the G1 here. I have it on my pocket. I've been using it for a while now.
