For Apple phones there's an easy way to see how long you spend using certain apps, Go to settings then tap battery. Under the battery usage section tap the clock icon. Look at the on screen time to get an idea of how much you use the app. If you want to get more granular, download the moments app. This gives you statistics on phone habits and screen time. The pro version also has tips to break the addiction and a phone boot camp. Android owners can check out quality time to get usage history for apps, then set up alerts to notify you when you're overusing your phone. Go even further with Offtime for Android that restricts access to apps and the Internet.
