-I'm Nicole Lee, senior associate editor for cnet.com and this is a first look at the Motorola Charm for T-Mobile.
Even though it doesn't look like it, this is actually an Android smartphone.
It has a 2.8-inch display.
Underneath that, you do get a full QWERTY keyboard.
They keyboard as you can see here is pretty roomy and they are raised above the surface so it's easy to text and dial by feel.
On the back here, is 3-megapixel camera lens as well as an interesting Backtrack track pad similar to the one on the Motorola Backflip.
We found using the Backtrack a little bit awkward and didn't see the point of using it when we already had the touchscreen.
The Motorola Charm uses Android 2.1 with the Motoblur interface.
Motoblur consists of several widgets that streams social networking services directly to the home screen.
Because the Motorola Charm's screen size is so small, we found the Motoblur interface very cluttered.
The Motorola Charm has Wi-Fi, GPS as well as support for T-Mobile's 3G network.
You'll also get the usual Android features of course.
You'll get Gmail, Google Talk, Google Maps with Navigation, and so forth.
The Motorola Charm makes a very decent entry-level Android smartphone.
But the small screen size combined with the Motoblur interface and the Backtrack, this wasn't a very good user interface.
The Motorola Charm is very affordable at only $79.99 with a new 2-year service agreement with T-Mobile.
