Microsoft redesigns its Band with new curved OLED screen
When we set out to create this version, we had a couple of design principles.
Optimize for the individual who goes to work, and enjoys working out, like me.
Make it breathable and flexible.
No rigidity in any direction.
No uncomfortable shoulders, no hard edges, and above all, it must curve nicely around the wrist.
So, we figured out a way to optimize the screen size and redesign the screen itself so it curves.
Plus with the gorilla glass, the organic led screen is scratch resistant and optimized to be more responsive to touch, which is amazing.
But we also brought all of the well loved features from the original band.
So that means you've got your onboard gps mapping, UV monitoring, guided workouts.
You can track your sleep and your calories.
You can also set up customizable notifications for your calls, texts Emails and social updates,
So, let's say you miss a workout, Cortana will offer to reschedule it for you.
It'll keep you updated on your calories
throughout the day, with a constantly updating.
But our customers asked for something specific.
A way to track elevation.
I get it, I love spending time in the mountains.
So we added an eleventh sensor, a barometer.
[APPLAUSE] Now you can track your fitness with even more precision by measuring elevation changes in real time.
Great for hiking, biking, or just climbing stairs.
