Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere
>> Hi, I'm [Inaudible] Francis, associate editor for
cnet.com. And I'm here with the Logitech [Inaudible].
And no, it's not just a case. Because actually it is a
set of portable speakers from Logitech. And of course
they are made for iPod. [Inaudible] has these handy
flip-out legs which fold neatly for compact storage.
You have the built-in iPod dock here, some basic
playback controls across the top, and here you have an
iPod. It fits quite nicely. They do include several
iPod dock adapters for fitting the various iPods, but
not the latest iPod. So if you have a Classic or a new
Nano, you're going to have to use the adaptor that came
with it. It's a nice looking speaker but not the
smallest or most compact travel speaker that I've seen.
The good part about that is this can actually deliver
some bass, as opposed to the really small ones which
won't really go far on the low end. A couple of things
I'd like to point out. There is this clamshell carrying
case that comes with it. And a thing that I thought was
really neat and worth showing with at power adaptor
actually folds in, and not only that it has this built
in kind of appendage for wrapping the cable and storing
it while in transport. And once you have that cable all
wrapped up it will actually fit quite nicely in here,
and you can store it all in the case and take it with
you to go. Then of course you have the lovely remote,
which they have improved upon by adding this second
control pad here, which actually let's you step in and
out of the iPod's menu. This is a handy feature that
we're just starting to see come about in a lot of the
newer remotes for speakers. Which is good, because you
don't actually have to go up to the iPod to back out of
the menus. You can do that while you're sitting in the
comfort of your couch. So great speaker, $150. Quite a
deal for a speaker that sounds this good. And we think
it's set to do just as well as the MM 50 has. I'm
[Inaudible] Francis, and this is the Logitech
