>> If you're not buying luxury gifts for the loved ones this year, well then I don't want to be on your list. Seriously though take a break from the usual MP3 players, cell phones and HG TV's and get somebody a luxury gift they'll love you for. I'm Molly Wood and let's take a look at a few options that are well off the beaten budget. Let's get started with a laptop. Now I know what you're thinking but this isn't some rinky dink little 2000 dollar teeny tiny little business laptop. Don't make me laugh. No go big this year literally with the HP Pavilion HDX. There is nothing small about this sucker; 15.5 pounds, top of the line components, complete media playback functionality and at least 4700 dollars fully loaded which includes an HD-DVD player. Oh I'm sorry are you complaining that the Pavilion HGX is too heavy? Boohoo puny man; just buy yourself some muscles to go along with it. Ok well if it's really too heavy to carry, you'll just have to drive--in a manner of speaking. Now we all know that golf is the game for high roller networking but they'll take you a lot more seriously if you roll up in this bad boy; the 14,000 dollar Burline Cadillac Escalade golf cart; plus it's electric, get it? It's the green Escalade. What else has that perfect combination of conspicuous consumption and carbon offsetting? Bonus. And finally it's the battle of the million dollar luxury gift. In this corner we've got the grand Enigma speaker system from Karma. It's the world's most expensive speaker setup and there's only one in existence. And in this corner meet the million dollar lure from Mac Daddy's fishing lures. Okay they're both one of a kind and they both cost a million dollars. Who will win? Let's battle it out. Speaker system gets huge points for sheer spectacle; it's totally custom and it can probably shatter glass with, I'm sure, pretty unbelievable sound. Downside it's installed in a cellar in Belgium. Fishing lure is golden platinum crusted with over 100 carats of diamonds and rubies and makes the pimp cup look like it came from Wal-Mart. Downside, fishing lure. So live in a cellar in Belgium for awesome sound or wear a weird million dollar fishing lure around your neck to show everyone how in to fishing you are. Winner? Grand Enigma speaker system. I hear Belgium is lovely this time of year. For the rest of our ultimate luxury gift ideas and lots of other more practical presents, check out CNET's holiday gift guide at holiday.cnet.com.
