How to create reminders with Google Home
At long last Google Home has been updated with support for simple reminders.
Here's how to never forget to take out the trash ever again.
There are a couple ways to create reminders for Google Home, either directly from the speaker itself or from an Android or iOS device.
To create a reminder from Google Home there are a handful of commands you can use.
Say the wake phrase then say something like, remind me to go for a run tomorrow at 8 AM.
Or remind me to go to the grocery store every Sunday morning.
For now, location-based reminders are not supported, but Google's help page says the feature Features coming soon.
To manage your reminders with Google Home say the wake phrase then something like what are my reminders, what is my reminder to go for a run, delete all of my reminders for tomorrow, or delete my reminder to go to the grocery store.
If you'd rather manually create reminders from your phone you can do that using assistant on Android or iOS.
Just make sure the device is logged into the correct account and connected to the same wi-fi network as your Google home speaker.
With an assistant you can use the same verbal commands to create a reminder.
Or you can create a reminder manually by typing.
To type out a reminder, open the assistant and tap the blue button in the top right corner.
This opens the explore tab then tap your stuff and then add reminder.
Give the reminder a title and select a time and whether it should repeat.
Tap the check mark in the upper right corner to save it.
To delete you're reminder from the phone go back to your stuff and tap see all and to reminders.
Tap on a reminder to edit or delete it.
When it's time for your reminder, you will receive a push notification on your phone and Google Home would light up and say, I have a reminder for your name.
A single white LED will remain lit for the following ten minutes.
If you miss a reminder, you can ask Google Home, what are my notifications or what are my reminders?
You can check reminders on your phone by returning your stuff in the Assistant app.
To turn off reminder notifications, open the Google home app on Android or IOS, go to more settings and select phone or your Google home device under devices.
Beside notifications tap the toggle to turn notification off.
