Google is replacing Youtube Red with Youtube Premium, but since this is Google it's never simple.

Youtube Premium includes ad-free music and video, downloads, and the ability to play media in the background.
It will cost around 12 dollars per month If you are already a member of YouTube Red, your pricing will stay at the $9.99 price point.
Google says that YouTube Premium is rolling out in existing markets soon.
Expansion to other parts of the world will start this year.
Let's talk about YouTube Music.
In a separate blog post, Google says YouTube Music will launch on Tuesday, May 22.
You may be thinking hey isn't Youtube Music already an app on iOS and android?
It is, but that's changing.

It's blog post says, that the Youtube music that's launching on May 22nd is a new music streaming service from Google.
There will be a new reimagined mobile app and a desktop player designed for music.
You want to search for music, Google says that you can describe a song, or search for lyrics and YouTube music will find what you're looking for.
YouTube music is a free ad supported service.

If you're paying for Google Play Music, you'll have access to YouTube Music Premium.
So why would Google have two different music services?
In a briefing with Cnet's Joan Solsman, Google said it will be closing the gaps between the two services This is over the next month.
Google Play music members would have the features they are used like a cloud based MP3 storage locker.
And then Google Play music will be going the way of Google Video, buzz and reader.
That's right, Google Play music will be going away eventually.
