[ Background music ] >> Justin Yu: If all you do with your computer is simple word processing, internet surfing, or watching TV of streaming websites this might be the perfect budget system for you. I'm Justin Yu and this is a first look at the eMachines ET181003 desktop computer. Now right off the bat you're gonna notice that it's not exactly the most attractive computer you can buy. It's not a slim tower or a home theater PC by any means but rather a full size desktop with dramatic system improvements since the previous model. Now in terms of components, this setup makes a pretty compelling argument for its price. You get a 2.2 gigahertz Intel dual core processor, 3 gigs of ram, and integrated Invidia graphics card, a 320 gigabyte hard drive and a DVD burner. Now if you're locked into the strict sub $400 market this eMachine is definitely a great deal but you can get a lot more for you dollar with a Gateway that costs about $200 more and then you can read about it more in our full review but we lined up the eMachines with several other systems of similar price and hardware and it actually out performed a $480 Dell in our iTunes and coding benchmark. Now don't get me wrong it's definitely not a heavy multimedia editor and you're likely to see lag in graphics heavy programs like Adobe Photoshop but this computer can definitely handle general purpose processes without hiccups.
