Does Wi-Fi hate trees?
It's Monday, November 22nd.
I'm Natali Morris and it's time to get loaded.
Amazon will let you buy someone a Kindle book this year.
This means you can buy a Kindle user a digital book on Kindle as a gift.
Of course, you don't need a Kindle to read these books.
Amazon let's you read them on PCs these days.
All you need to buy someone a Kindle book is their e-mail address.
Groupon has launched Group Hanukkahs, a holiday shopping site.
Groupon features deals that are good for 24 hours at a time.
Group Hanukkahs will have new deals everyday for the next 5 weeks and offers will last 3 to 5 days.
It'll also show upcoming gifts so you're motivated to keep on coming back for that holiday deal hysteria.
PayPal may soon be coming to your TV remote control.
This would mean that you could buy the slot topper that you see on TV with your PayPal account with just the touch of a button on the remote.
PayPal has partnered with FourthWall Media and Canoe Ventures to make this happen.
And there's a new iPad rumor among us.
It has to do with a News Corp.
news reader.
The word is that Steve Jobs himself and Apple, of course, are working with Rupert Murdoch and News Corp.
to design a news reader just for the iPad.
The project is codenamed "The Daily" and it's supposed to have "tabloid sensibility with a broadsheet intelligence." And new research out of the Netherlands shows that Wi-Fi is harmful to trees.
Radiation from the wireless protocol was shown to cause significant variations in growth as well as bleeding and fissures in the bark.
Trees in urban areas with Wi-Fi saturation were all found to show these symptoms which makes me think twice about what it could be doing to us if this is true.
And if you plan to use Facebook's new messaging system, you may wanna consider that you can't include any link you want to in those conversations.
Wired is reporting that Facebook Messaging blocks links to things like torrents and file sharing sites even when users are using their @facebook e-mail address, so how can Facebook compete with e-mail if they block content?
Utter fail.
And finally, this one's for the shoe lovers like me.
Amazon has added the ability to search for shoes by image type.
This may not mean a whole lot to you but it means something to me.
It means that when you're looking for a specific shape of shoe like an espadrille or a Mary Jane, you can filter with the graphics, which is excellent.
Those are all your headlines for today.
I'll see you tomorrow.
I'm Natali Morris for CNET.com and you've just been loaded.
