>> Hey, it's Justin Yu for CNET.com and this is a First Look at the Dell XPS 430-121B. It's a midrange system sold exclusively at Best Buy Stores and for around 900 bucks you get a 2.5-gigahertz quad-core processor, 6-gigs of DDR3 RAM, an ATI Radeon and dedicated graphics card, and a 750-gigabyte hard-drive. You also get a built-in TV tuner. Now this model is a refresh of the Dell XPS 420 we reviewed in 2007, but Dell makes a few changes. For example, you no longer see that really gothic Windows SideShow LCD, which cuts down on cost, but still leaves you with an impressive set of features for streaming media and home entertainment. Now let's take a quick look at the chassis. The front houses a dual layer DVD burner and a few extra optical slots for another driver extra storage. There's also a media card reader and a collection of audio ports as well. Now flip this thing around to the back and you'll see an Ethernet port, as well as more audio ports and one for SPDIF digital audio out. I have to reiterate here that while this configuration does not include Wi-Fi, we can sympathize with you if you miss it especially given the ubiquity of wireless these days. Now it shouldn't cost too much to include a wireless card in there especially if they took out the 56k modem card. Anyway, it's pretty easy to get inside thanks to this quick release handle and speaking of which check out all this tabbed plastic brackets that hold the hard-drive and optical bays that this make it really easy to swap out components without the need of a screwdriver. Now, this system performs really admirably against the competition especially in our multitasking tests that taxes its aggressive CPU and fast DDR3 RAM. But if you're a hard core gamer you'll probably get more results from the Gateway where we mention in our for review. Now, that one includes a better graphics card, but sacrifices a little bit of storage space and speed. I'm Justin Yu and this has been a First Look at the Dell XPS 430-121B desktop computer. Thanks for watching guys.
