Best of CES 2011 wrap-up
-Brian Tong here with CNET.com at CES 2011 and we are here right before the best of CES 2011 award show right behind me.
This is what they look like.
We have our editors scouring the floor, find out what are the best products.
We have 13 different award categories, the people's choice winner and the best of show.
This is what it looks like.
This is what they are all here for.
-And the winner of the best of CES award in the design category is the Casio Tryx.
-This is a great, great, great pleasure for Casio because this is New Year and this is a great gift for our kids.
Thank very much.
-The winner in the digital imaging category is the Sony Handycam HDR-PJ series.
-It's so exciting.
It's kind of solving problem.
You know, you never bring cable with your or the TV doesn't have the right inputs.
You show it on the side of your wall or T-shirt or side of your tents.
It's a perfect application for sharing everything, everyone, anywhere.
We're so excited.
We're just fortunate to be here for another year and I just can't express how excited we are.
Thank you.
-The winner in the home theater category is the ultracompact Samsung BD-D7000.
-Our Blu-ray player is beyond just playing this about, you know, Samsung apps, getting access to networking your player to other devices and you know,
We're trying to do more and offer more to the consumer.
-Now, let's be honest, the way that it extracts the disk is fast.
-Yeah, yeah.
Our design team really works on making it very compact, putting only the essentials in there, providing new and cool way to put your disk in.
-Okay, thank you.
-Alright, the winner in the software services and apps category is RealNetworks' Unifi.
-How does it feel to be a best and CES winner?
-It is fabulous.
We've worked so hard and we have identified the problem that everybody has,
lot of apps, lot of devices, lot of stuff scattered all over the place and we found a way to literally unify it.
So, we're thrilled with the award.
It's a validation of our work.
Thank you.
-The winner in the storage and networking category is the IoSafe Rugged Portable drive.
You wanna protect your media?
Yeah.
This one is just about to bulletproofs in our editor's no because they watch a good shot with a shotgun.
-This is pretty much indestructible.
-Not indestructible, but it's pretty tough drive.
We put it through the pieces during the demo, dunk them out, and we dunked it, we crushed it, we tried to shoot it with a shotgun and it just kept ongoing.
So, thanks for having this award and we really appreciate CNET and everything you guys do to help us in technology in the general.
-So, the winner in the 2011 best of CES people's voice award winner this year is-- give to the Razer.
-This the people's choice award.
This is what everyone watching CES outside here feels.
How does it feel to take this award?
-I don't know to cry.
You know we've been trying to do this for 5 years.
We were nominated.
We didn't win, we didn't win, we didn't win.
So, long walk up and down.
It's just thank for everybody, thank you.
Amazing, just amazing.
-The winner of the 2011 best of CES best of show award is
The Motorola XOOM.
-It's been amazing and we took big risks and you know it paid off, it paid off.
We didn't know people would get it, but obviously we got it.
So, for this-- for the whole Motorola, for project team, the Motorola people who been working so hard on the show and those are those that been staying in the back actually continuing to work to bring the next level of experimenting and bring actually this one to market.
It's just an immense recognition.
I am very thankful to the team.
It's very encouraging for us.
It means we're doing the right things.
-So, there you have it all our winners of the CES award show here at CES 2011.
Motorola coming out strong early taking the smart phone category, the tablet category, and obviously the best of CES in show.
So, there you have it all the winners.
We'll see you guys next year at CES.
