As digital wallet to sit back and enjoy the best of buzz out loud. Alright guys I'm gonna jump as the story is Sony not going down in flames yet. But they just announced their latest earnings or. Lack -- of they did they said they're expecting an annual loss of 3.2. Billion dollars this year reversing their earlier projection. A return to profit. They had predicted that they would be profitable somewhere around over 800 million dollars. Earlier this year that's not the case now some of this is it attributed to a tax write off. Are largely written two due to a -- of a 360 billion yen. Or four point four billion US dollars related to a tax credit. Booked in the previous quarter but also other things that -- affecting them that the tsunami situation ms. that are really hasn't. Trickle down to its bottom line yet but they're expecting to see that affect that because over -- 5000 people were killed during the tsunamis. It's -- numerous factories were shut down because of it and then also we have the PlayStation hack. That took down the -- -- coming out for about three or four weeks they said in the projections are they said they were planning to lose approximately 170. Million dollars. To cover the costs and included the identity theft insurance for customers improving their network security and access the content. They did not mention how much the outage actually cost them from a standpoint of how many users how many dollars they they know popular let them the PlayStation -- It's that it's crazy I mean. Part of me just thinks about how. As -- as this news is it's not like Sony was doing great before all -- to you know like. Even before the -- before the tsunami -- was in this kind of treading water or you know of slow downward spiral of Mike not getting products out not coming out the tablet not having. You know. Hottest phones to be we're talking about dislike all there are things that -- their bread and butter before. It's not quite. You know being being the most popular product that on the market. This is just -- this is really accelerate you know there. They don't. -- yet heated if he didn't think they were the whipping boy also Sony's bmg -- That's part of there -- -- music division their Sony bmg -- music site was also. Successfully hacked recently they are they they. Did it doesn't stop so they suffered another online attack exposing get this -- users' information including their names email addresses and user names. Why didn't Sony also has -- to -- struck a deal with Apple for a music service -- that thinks on this one of them the majors or. Also all other announces that we're talking about windows had some of their big announcements on unveiling some the new features in -- windows phone. Mongol. -- and one of the features that they showcase offices slow kitten Hmong and all you watch SNL guys you have to if you know what mongo -- When he feeds among -- it offers search location specific results and it's integrated. Into their being searched so it pulls from the data around you and does kind of location specific searches this is pretty cool stuff. Yet pretty awesome and that the unit words showing off the new version and we had a whole lab blog about it but those are definitely an -- -- they they showed a new version of bum. Have an updated version of I. At the moment will not be delivering flash or silverlight compatibility in the browser. It'll also have built. In voice to text and text to voice support for hands for use but I have to say is has so far -- to meet a killer feature I remembered that -- that they're gonna get that. Apparently they did have a couple little glitches in there. The president uses it well no glare of the video -- the press conference by down because they get everybody with deeper interest than -- and using their Wi-Fi. He's in a -- a lot of times that happens. If they entries local out which offers hyper local search results based on on the user's location and -- nearby restaurant shopping and activities just little more deeply. Tools. -- tools available today. Some of the new other enhancements for developers that they can integrate within the apps -- background process seemed. The use of silverlight but again it's not supported in the browser mom live -- enhancements -- applications which -- A variety of other things but that. Developer tools are out to you guys. You'll get -- and on that yet wouldn't get to the developer support is gonna be key as we know windows. Mobile has had a little bit of a slow start. But that's kind of the Microsoft way is to to put out something that isn't quite done in just keep generating in the it's it's funny that Google gets the credit for doing that but Microsoft is the original agency beta G had no -- beta there OG with the beta and now what the deal -- Nokia like we keep saying there's ever there's potential for it to get huge and I gotta admit. The -- it okay what about the security levels on the actual NFC -- so someone tries to tamper with it. It has a self destruct but I -- not like there's -- possible gain yeah all so they joked that they were serious it's. I guess it's a impervious to laser attacks they said I don't know if someone's like trying saw it with a laser but they said the chip itself. It will not be speculate laser tax and it's only active. When you're activating or blocking it to use for payment transactions so it's not always -- on someone can't sniff.
