We have always looked to the stars to discover who we are and hidden there is a message.
>. What are you most looking forward to your fans seeing in season two of Star Trek.
The family exploration.
The family exploration and the faith exploration.
For Tilly i think that she has some issues that isolates her from the other people for a while which is good because she gets to tackle something on her on and kind of deal with herself so she really has like uniue and a Personal journey this season.
You know there's being a lot of fan theories being throw around and all year about how Colbert return because you know we've been pretty honest pretty upfront with the fact that he would be returning and this was just a chapter in this love story but it's being interesting [UNKNOWN] different ideas and theories.
But I'm really excited for them to see how it actually happens.
I'm personally very grateful that there's time and space given to really, for Stamets to really deal with the loss and deal with what happened and how to move through that.
Cuz there wasn't time or space to really do that in season one.
So
That's meant a lot to me to have that and I hope it'll be satisfying and meaningful to the audience as well.
Yes, it's usually different dynamic as I'm saying, hugely different aesthetic, she is the chancellor now, she has to embody this achetype.
You gonna get to lean into some of these female achetypes you see with cling-ons in the past and the whole kind of
Struggling to find her own voice.
She's upholding [UNKNOWN] vision of unification and yet she cannot do it the way he said they were and she's still trying to figure that out.
She still has her relationship with Tyler to work out.
There's a lot of complicated stuff, both on a large scale and on a small scale.
Pike.
If you think about it, is Roddenberry's original face of Starfleet.
Therefore he has to be the embodiment of optimism, and the belief that mankind, at its most basic, is good.
So I've really just been operating on that.
He's got a good heart.
He probably had Good parents, and he definitely had great mentors.
The war is over now.
So I think season two will be a nice massage to Star Trek purists who love the whole lore fo Start Trek, the cannon of Star Trek.
We're back to exploring, and boldy going where no one's gone before.
In terms of the villians or antagonists, I mean last year we had
So fairly complex ones, some we didn't know were villains until the end.
What are they gonna be like in season two?
There's actually several different villains, and then one centralized villain.
And so the thing that I love about, like a great villain brings out something about your main characters right, they push something out or they force your characters to deal with themselves in a way that is unexpected and different and the you know what is the old adage a vill..a hero is only as Is good a villain and that really really applies I think this season.
Applies really to any season but.
So you'll be on your third captain with show now you've got Georgiou, Lorca, and now Pike.
Tell me about how the dynamic is different the three.
It's the characters.
Man well I love to see the different leadership styles.
Of course there was a huge leadership difference between Giorgio and Lorca.
But even just to see the differences between Giorgio and Pike.
I love it.
I love that obviously each person is going to bring something totally differnet to it.
And Giorgio was so graceful.
and so empathetic with the way she lead.
She knew exactly what to do for each person and exactly how to speak and empower each person and that was one of her super powers and you know Pike is as we've said obviously I can't say too much about him but you know earlier today we likened him to a gentle bro you know someone who is Innately kind, who's had great upbringing, and so he brings a certain kindness.
In real life, what is the one piece of tech that you can't live without?
That I can't live without?
It'd probably be my iPad then.
Can I say my iPad?
Okay.
My Ear Pads.
I think they're amazing.
They're so simple, but they change my life.
I love my Apple TV.
My Apple TV.
Can't I live without?
I mean, isn't it crazy that we can't live without technology these days?
iPad.
I try to get away from [LAUGH] technology as much as possible.
I say that with a smartphone in my front pocket, but-
I tend to use Pandora
Yeah, that's the facts.
[LAUGH]
[MUSIC]
Hit it.
