AI in Healthcare: Saving lives at population scale

This is the most exciting time to be in the AI space in healthcare. It's an opportunity of a lifetime to bring our skills together to do better for humanity. There are diseases like CHF, COPD, diabetes, that are the epidemics of our time. And that's a status quo we should not accept, even after spending so much money in the United States. The health outcomes are actually not improved. It's just unthinkable. This is like a sector which deals with human lives. Here we are sitting in 21st century and actually not doing enough for betterment of patient outcomes and this has to stop. Kensci is a healthcare company dedicated on using. to fight that with data science. We are based out of Seattle. With offices in UK and Singapore. And today we manage better healthcare and better outcomes for over 57 million patients worldwide. Hospitals are actually thinking about How they wanted to get started with AI and more solutions. So we work with those health leaders as they think about how we can help them. In the health care industry, lots of data has been accumulated over the last decade and what we do is, we bring these data sources together and create the system of intelligence, so that you can start seeing the future Before it is going to happen. We take those predictions and make them very actionable, at the point of care. The end result is basically being able to do better patient outcomes while saving money. One of the strongest drivers of our group has been our ability to bring together two very diverse skill sets, math and medicine. And that has been our secret sauce. Putting a doctor and a data scientist together to solve a problem. And to solve the problem with humility We do [UNKNOWN] translators between the hospitals and health systems and the data scientist in developed [UNKNOWN] can say you don't have as much as the background and health care. It's really important that we do [UNKNOWN] that we talk to them about you know what it means to be a patient What it means to be a provider. And there for the entire country of Scottland, we are working with their doctors to take care of patients with pulmonary diseases better at a cheaper cost. One of the things that has put Kansai on the map has been our relationship with Microsoft. You know, they have been a fabulous partner, helping us grow from a garage startup to a company that serves health systems across seven countries. And as your as a product has been the engine driving our growth, because the technology is so advanced and the governance and the security capabilities are so well done. What is great about Microsoft azure is it is a good one stop shop to how to organize the data in the cloud in a efficient, scalable, elastic way. That alone has helped us accelerate the pace of innovation and make it come alive for our customers at a fraction of a cost and at a fraction of a time. There's is a lot of reasons that I love working here, and we're really at the cutting edge of something that is going to be so meaningful and revolutionary really in the field of health care. And to be at that point with this people is really amazing opportunity. Each one of us is on this mission, to help health care through technology. We all take the same Hippocratic Oath that the physicians take. We also put a picture of our loved ones next to the oath. It is that empathy, that commitment to the mission is what drives the people here. An having the privilege to work with such amazing people is the best part of my job. When I wake up in the morning, I know for a fact that we are doing better for millions of patients worldwide and I know tomorrow we can do this for billions of patients worldwide
