The Genovation GXE is the only EV with a manual transmissionThe company uses a Corvette Grand Sport as a donor car, but we can't get over that sweet three-pedal gear box.
[MUSIC] If you've always wanted a Corvette but maybe shied away from that sub-20 mile per gallon overall fuel rating, well, Genovation just might have the answer for you in the form of the ZXE. It is an all-electric Corvette Grand Sport and it has a 7-speed manual, I'm so excited! Why would you put a manual into an electric car? Well, a single speed reduction gear box like what you have in a Tesla, you have to choose between really strong acceleration or a really great top end speed. But with the manual? You don't have to choose. The GXE has 0 to 60 times that under three seconds and a top speed of 220 per miles an hour. Twin electric motors stuffed under the front hood give you 800 horsepower at the wheels and 700 lb-ft of torque. But there's enough batteries for you to go 175 miles on a single charge if you drive it normally. Which, I'm pretty sure I would never, ever be able to do. And if you've looked at the back, you might notice those old-school tail lights Yeah, Genovation just like it better, so they swapped them out. But, you are going to have to move fast. Genovation will only make 700 of the GXE's, and- get this- $750,000 plus the price of a donor car. Pretty sure I'm gonna need a raise. [SOUND]
