Take flight with champion Red Bull acrobatic pilot Kirby Chambliss

[MUSIC] Hello I'm Kirby Chambliss. I'm a Red Bull Air Race pilot. I'm here with Emmy Hall with the Road Show. And we're super stoked because I'm going to get to take her out there and show her the ultimate roller coaster ride. The first thing we're going to do is let her experience a little bit of a taste of what it would be like for the Red Bull Air Race. Today I get to race in the Red Bull air race plane with one of the best pilots in the world. We're gonna go up, we're gonna do a few barrel rolls. We're gonna do some inversions, and I'm probably gonna barf. Super excited to be riding in this 300 horsepower plane. Now that might not seem like a lot, but this baby is super light. And we're gonna fly like the wind. [NOISE] [LAUGH] We're in the air now. Yay [INAUDIBLE] First thing we're gonna do is to give that air race experience through the chicane. Move to a left right left and we go to the chicane. Ready. [INAUDIBLE] You kinda go up way way way way way up and then, it's kind of slow then it kinda up the [INAUDIBLE] Back back down. [LAUGH] My God. And that's doing the narrow roll. My God. And so, that's the thing we're gonna do and 14 air ray, say, we're gonna do a 270 degree turn F16. Okay. So, we'll do a two now, I'm kinda pull it up for you Okay. You ready? [SOUND] My God. [LAUGH] Quick left, left, left. All right, you holding on? Straight over the nose, we're gonna cartwheel this thing about three times end over end. Yeah. There we go. You can't even see the rally car now, can't you? Hello, we're going end over end. You doing all right? Yes. Look to your left that'll help you keep orientated. Wait. Okay, got a bag. Let's just head back. I'm okay you can go back out. Are you sure? Some of that throw-up will go everywhere. All right, you're good to go. I got it. That's right, you're all right. No, I got it. Let's go. The first person that I've ever taken back out after [INAUDIBLE] [LAUGH] So this is like a first. This is new territory for me. Woo. Next thing. We're gonna do. You see that string out on the left wing? Yeah. We're gonna dive down. We're gonna pull straight up. I'm gonna tell you to look to the left. We're gonna be about six rolls going straight up. I mean, straight up, and then we're gonna fly backwards and do another five Over six, going backward. You can see the smoke going the other way. And you'll also see that street going the other way. And then after that, I'll probably be done. Okay. Let's do it. Smoke's going to come off, [INAUDIBLE] I'm not [INAUDIBLE] Look to your left. Straight up. Whoa! Whatever you're doing Emma don't [UNKNOWN]. I'm not [UNKNOWN] my god this is amazing. Four rolls. That is so cool. [INAUDIBLE] I'm gonna turn the smoke off we're going the other way 30, 40, 50 My God [LAUGH] [INAUDIBLE] Yeah, how you doing. Awesome, my God it was so worth it. Are you ready you want to go back now or you want to do a little more. One more. What's going on, you're gonna be looking straight ahead. WHere do you want to explode a fraction of a second, a one, a two, a three, yeah, that's called a snap roll. You roll around [INAUDIBLE] snapping. Prepare for the next step. How are you? Okay, yeah.>> You want to head back? Let's head back. Okay so I threw up. And it wasn't the spinning. It was the cheese. My head is just pressed so far back and you just think like, my god, I'm so light headed right now. Amazing. This plane does stuff that I can't even, and it happened so fast. Like the response is instant. God, if we could get a steering system that could do that in a car. God, it would be amazing. It totally Freedom up there is total freedom, and especially in a plane like this because it can do anything that you wanted to do. It was amazing. I don't feel that I have this opportunity. Wow.
