Forbidden fruit: The Audi SQ2 debuts at the Paris Motor Show
There is nothing sweeter than forbidden fruit, and here at the Paris Motor Show we are legitimately surrounded by it.
Seriously there are so many cool cars here that we are never gonna get in the states.
One such delicacy is this little guy here behind me, the all new 2019 Audi SQ2 This is a hot dub version of the Q2 that's been around Europe since 2017.
You can think of it as kind of a small sub-compact crossover.
I mean it's smaller than the Mercedes ES3, it's smaller than the BMW X1, and this thing is practically just a hatch back on stilts.
It's powered by a two meter turbo charged engine which puts out 296 horsepower and 295 pound feet of torque.
And what happens when you add power to lightness, well you get speed my friend.
This guy can hit 62 miles an hour in less than five seconds on its way to a top speed of 155.
Power goes down to all four wheels through a seven speed [UNKNOWN] automatic transmission, but you know there's paddle shifters in this thing, right?
And that Quattro system can throw a hundred percent of that torque to the rear for just a little bit more fun.
And Europeans are really lucky they get virtual cockpit and the excellent traffic jam assist with full speed adaptive cruise control.
So while this guy might not be coming to the U.S. there are plenty of vehicles here at the Paris motor show that will be hitting our shores So be sure to check out Theroadshow.com for the latest.
