Chinese GAC Motor debuts new look for GS5 compact SUV

At the 2018 Paris Auto Show, Chinese automaker GAC Motor is showing off its line of debuts like this: the Trunk G GS5.
Now, the GS5 debuts a new light and shadow 3.0 design aesthetic that, to my eye, looks a whole lot like the new Hyundai Santa Fe.
Now, as much as I like to play the looks-like game at auto shows, this is important because Chinese automakers kinda have a bit of a reputation for copycat design.
And if GAC wants to stand out in the States, it's gonna have to do a much better job differentiating the looks of its cars from its competitors.
But I digress.
Inside, we've got what GAC calls the Trumpchi Cloud 2.0 concept infotainment system.
And under the hood, there's a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine good for around 33 miles per gallon.
Now, GAC really wants to sell these These cars in the States.
But current politics and consumer attitudes towards Chinese cars have kinda stacked the deck against its 2019 expected debut.
But if this car does arrive, expect it to drop that Trumpchi moniker for reasons, going just by the GAC GS5, though I'm not sure if GAC GS5 is a better option.
