Cnet's Arctic -- -- -- -- and ninth of September 2010. I'm -- -- host Wayne Cunningham Brian Cooley is off doing other more interest -- things and that we're Antuan Goodwin in the studio as well. In the news first up Hyundai just announced a new ED this is the first Hyundai EV. Running on the going on the train of -- from my Mitsubishi and and then Nissan they're they're playing catch up here. Can see the cars and electric version of the Hyundai I ten hatchback which is focused. Show -- as an electric concept car the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. It's called the blue on. Its name because it's a version of Sunday's blue drive eco friendly lineup. And hundreds that you can switch on with the scars that's where blue on comes from. I added this new blue on electric car can drive 87 miles up fairly typical or electric car. As a maximum speed -- eighty miles per hour. And that cannot fully recharge from a 220 volt outlet and six hours. And now also charge it to you eighty per think of -- quake by minutes with a fast charging that station. The and the blue on -- 101 uses a lithium ion -- of polymer battery. -- H on the top of various -- -- in the past and it will be I used in their upcoming -- hybrid models. Blue one is. They're gonna start off with they just thirty cars that they're building and they're gonna release them to the Korean. The very -- government agencies it's sort of a test -- And but they're looking at tests without producing 2500 of the blue on electric cars. Then selling them to the general public -- -- -- twelve. Although it doesn't say whether they'll be in the U lesser Korea or Europe of. I guess consider we don't even get the I tend to begin with and I mean. -- -- Pretty -- sexy looking in -- going up against you know. Cars like the -- and then Nissan leaf -- I mean at least interesting looking cars I don't know if we're actually gonna get. This exact vehicle and -- seems highly unlikely. Now the blue the you know the the -- is -- -- puts its listeners that exclusivity American market I mean it's gonna be sold worldwide that the plane has you know they've been built where the US. -- -- -- It's -- they don't sell it here it's a very small many -- a -- like the Mitsubishi I mean you've. I'm you have to hand dad but -- -- living -- -- she's gonna sell a car here here as well also Monday may take a gamble on it. What of the interesting things -- mentioned in the article is that you know it that's the charging. Speed is actually. Listed with 220 double standard which is kind of will we get out of our dryer standards but over in Korea that -- -- standard come out of every every plug though. -- -- easier for them to build infrastructure around the -- they've got that kind of power -- -- going to be any -- you know -- -- on the side of your -- Would be bits than they would have to. Have somebody install a special. You when you have -- if public that the kind of appliance dryer -- -- by your refrigerator here. You're washer dryer thing it you have to have an electricity come in and give you -- you have a special role in your house for that here. And it seems like they'll be able to just plug defending anything which is a good. Starting point -- the vehicle I think. And manhunt has been on the move recently any anything another auto maker does its innovative Sunday it's out there and and and cheaper yeah that's -- current. It's in the follow on pretty quickly so we know the -- may be silent for 151000 don't quote me on that it in the US market day in when he twelve. That's couple years down the line they they just you know through -- Olympic -- in this thing and and -- they're -- start testing -- Further on in that tellem addicts news on stars actually been doing a lot of interest in things as well. And there's just been some speculation. In Bloomberg that on -- will be adding that. Possibly FaceBook integration and a voice to text messaging. -- -- is is still speculation. On star is actually going to do a major announcement. On the fifteenth of September next week. Sort of a re launch of their whole thing to I had a conversation with the president about OnStar and hinted at a couple things they did without any specific information. -- Bloomberg but apparently has some more information and a lot of this is to compete with Ford sync which is. Really taken the market and and made it easy on star is. That I want want to get in that infotainment space and you know this is opposed to just been in this for the security space they've they've been in recently. But what would you do with the FaceBook in its in your vehicle and he would you broadcast your location to your friends. Even though FaceBook kind of just ruled out that whole and a FaceBook places where you check in places and what -- that would be something where you could for example. Have your card check in for you when you pull up in front of N out burger in the her friends are there be more interest -- have a camera so you know opening your car. And just post pictures from the road or whether he's the along party and just get busted up there and yes and it does metallic there's those figures there's a -- called failed looking. -- like beef because -- Alec failures of people using FaceBook. And there's always one where it's dislike somebody complaining about someone cut them off -- 85 miles an hour and then of course the first comment. You actually in your car -- and if that -- I mean I guess maybe this'll make it easier to do such a thing especially if you're gonna use voice to text -- -- I mean of course there's gonna be via the obvious outcry from our listeners -- like you really need one more thing to distract you when you're driving -- Really adding voice and text in -- but would be very strange and pristine -- and probably to a lot of weird. Abbreviations and ms. spellings and and -- I think actually if consider ended the people who actually printed on a regular public fix a lot of their fell into that but I mean. I think one thing it's interesting isn't what it takes usually it's super accurate -- tried using Google's with the -- to compose statement -- on the things that it comes up with. Charges completely. Blew it you know insane and I think that it kind of and some -- instances if you have a weird accident or speech impediment like a -- or something like that. You know it could actually take more effort to keep correcting it over and over again trying to get it -- which -- Trying to -- I don't know it it it bit of an issue there also I think. Yeah OnStar and got a huge install base those that you know they're ready do that this will be once they realized missiles -- to start adding -- service. It'll make them available to a lot of people and -- we'll see what happens with that. So next week we will follow up on that announcement gets more specific information about the new OnStar and -- -- Well it -- they compete in this -- new environment. In other telmex news a lot of cars have traumatic services. You know -- some of -- don't really hear about as much. Mercedes-Benz of course that being a luxury auto maker has the people want -- service and they've just launched a new. App well I should they've had this app out called embrace and -- sort of the the iPhone app version of there. Their automatic service but what they've now done with a 2.0 version of this that -- is they've taken big -- to -- music outside the cock. One thing this thing has a excellent vehicle -- were looking at the picture of that right now. This is sort of ultimate. You know apart like -- somewhere I had no idea where it is and I just pour my phone and it'll show me where the cars that -- use the GPS symbol from the car. -- the GPS signal from iPhone and go. You're here -- cars there. Here's the -- how to get there. A lead of one of the few things about this is that. If you park your car and it parking garage and you don't get a good GPS signal and you forget -- is. I mean does it use something else. Into the new -- put cellular tower triangulation but given that could put Jakarta completely different neighborhood. Which is. Opening. Well -- and it does last known locations -- like it in the championing. Yeah I don't know how I mean how accurate I think aunts are claimed to be pretty accurate -- cars they certainly going to be more accurate then. Sink into of course it's not on -- so what are we talk about that the -- and this is that embrace that he's been system. And damn this is -- -- -- actually is the service provider behind this. The stuff. And but I think what's -- interest in about this is they've actually have me. Concierge service and this is normal thing I -- you get this with other problematic services to you when you're in your car -- just punch that -- button and say. Procter and operator and say -- you -- where there's a good restaurant around here or -- -- on -- hotel. The album for people that don't like navigation systems and and them. In that but with this system you'll actually be able it. Use the -- embrace app on your iPhone called the concierge even if you're you know miles away from your car. Even if you're in a different city you can still call the concierge -- -- yet Mercedes-Benz operators coddle you and give you. Gonna give you directions and and give you that nice for -- experience. If the kind of goes with the whole -- -- lifestyle that these -- -- -- -- -- mean look this is really -- about -- try to lake. Build a life stellar on the car and I guess we are kind of a Clark's entry. And culture you know the kind of car you drive and there's a lot about where you aren't society. -- I guess this is just the next step in that where it's like. You own a Mercedes and now you have somebody -- every Beck and call. I mean it's I guess -- -- for argument has. It certainly extend the Mercedes brand. Outside of the card you still. Have that connection with your car you know with -- car's manufacture anyway when your. Doing anything you maybe could you know start using this and not even have a Mercedes-Benz -- to speak at a part of the Mercedes-Benz. Club -- -- have to have some sort of like of registered -- or something. Again pedal that you could just anybody -- out there immediately and call for -- deeper data gap on the other into the phone line to answer that call and the look at the -- arbitrage related a look at yourself. Absolutely and this is -- -- -- is actually tied into the content specific cars as well. And they say with the new -- you can actually have multiple audience. So if you have different cars -- you have you know 45 Mercedes-Benz as you can. They well I'm in the GL today need to log into my DL account on here -- and it's also needs to be able to know which part of direct you to if you lose. Yeah be kind of benefit -- -- you all the way back here outfit that that's. Hasn't got some a lot of news about GPS this this week. Yet actually been blitzkrieg of -- -- new the first coming out of are crave UK -- -- British affiliate I guess. And forward it's actually working with Garmin right now to put the portable navigation device into your review mere. Now this is -- where they're calling in the near Nabih we've seen with things like this in the after market. I'm it is the first time I think we've seen at Furman OEM where they've actually just taken. Which essentially a Garmin to 65. WR TV -- spent -- in just kind of -- it up in the the review mirror there. And it's gonna be available on pretty much any Ford vehicle pretty much so they're doing is replacing the review Mir so -- not -- and it huge installation issue words. Very vehicle specific the only vehicles that you can't get this on -- gonna be the ranger which is. Only the oldest vehicle that Ford makes and that the -- which is their bottom of the line an entry level vehicle there. One of the interesting things about this. Is that it's kind of expensive Garmin Nuvi 265. You suction -- into your windshield. Is a belt. 200 bucks max I think you can find them for about a 119 dollars pretty easily these days. This is about 450 dollars plus installation charges just for the convenience of having in your your premiere. -- enough that actually worked I mean here -- -- -- and you just don't wanna. And -- cup the GPS to buy it and put the cradle in the -- glove compartment in the deep if the makes your bag every time you of the car. Maybe over the course of ten years you'll get your money's worth out of that. I don't know that is strictly in the UK strictly in the UK Florida didn't do anything like -- in America and I mean if that's all we also have. Are Microsoft think I don't know they. Use the same system over there we have our Microsoft think over here and -- it is actually using the turn by turn directions. -- that in place of something like this so even on your Ford Fiesta you'd be able to get certain screen -- turn by turn directions here you wouldn't need anything like that. Now that screen on this particular one and -- -- looks a little smaller than the standard 265. Would you steps -- -- of the same. The three and a half inch screen thirtieth the -- side three -- you know that that's the the actual standard and he. You get the right size. I think what's happening here it actually is the -- -- a little bigger now reached the thing. The compensate that -- not gonna but it think like six and a half inch screen and they yet that'd be bad news that there. And block out Samir airport via and a and then and another Garmin news I guess harmonies that actually relevant the are US -- viewers and listeners. Garmin has announced. An update to its flagship model of 169. And it's basically. They've changed the name is no longer the Garmin Nuvi 265. If just the Garmin new link to sixty if you -- 1695. And it's basically. An update of they're. Previous flagship model. And some of the interesting additions -- that played well I guess the name shows that their place in new emphasis on their newly connected service for your traffic here -- their. And all that other thing but they're also while working in this is the first model that's gonna have their -- Garmin new link. -- store where sometime in the future when they get around the developing apps will be able to purchase. And applications that you can install on your GPS device that maybe you'll just download and into the be free apps they haven't mentioned anything -- to be able to put these -- and GPS device and extend the functionality. -- -- -- FaceBook app hopes at that I can't we of that. But then it's interesting because TomTom also announced they with public go -- 1000 and that there -- -- their new European flagship model and that also. Has a web kit based infrastructure or an app store. And they haven't actually. These did that we can do app store on it they haven't they they are gonna do that they emulated that they're gonna open it the third party apps. But it kind of interesting to see. These portable navigation devices kind of developing these app stores as yet another way to compete against the smart -- if I mean. You Smartphones. Are super popular partially because you can install all these apps on -- -- because they have. GPS apps are you new GPS chips that are usually installed in those phones there. And have been pushing into that portable navigation territory slowly so it seems like. Garmin and TomTom -- trying to do something about that make itself competitive and that's when they don't want. You know they don't want your phones to do things -- the navigation system can't will mean. What's interesting is that you know they they've also been pursuing other avenues TomTom. Has developed and you know an iPhone app. And I had at that you can actually you know -- you they still get a little bit of money from some wariness you have an -- anyone better navigation you can download TomTom that. -- actually -- the other direction and develop their own. Smart phone -- I guess with limited success. I don't know how will the the most -- -- doing but there their first foray into that. With pretty disastrous so -- in the you know they're they're. Trying a bunch of different wave kind of remain relevant. And I mean. There's still the advantage of that a portable GPS device offers their a lot of advantages. You know -- -- fact that you can. -- your portable GPS device to your mom if -- you know. The fact she wanted she comes to town and want to like wrap around and rental car you can't -- your Smartphone your mom you -- so often communicate and -- and they usually have bigger screens and more accurate GPS antennas but. It's mean these -- Not really selling point that you know actually get people going up purchasing it -- -- if the right kind of fringe benefit -- -- have one. And -- of course -- -- the maps you know stored on the devices which is an advantage over the Smartphone if you're. Out of that cell phone coverage yet a huge advantage I mean -- even if the servers running flow. That the tremendous advantage in how long it'll take. The device to pick a route. -- went on question about the the data services on the did these come over radio. Frequencies only book have. Cellular antenna think the new link is actually provided by AT&T and I don't remember who TomTom. Services provided through. The year they're actually. Data connection that are into over three G there isn't any sim card in both of them. And both of these units are gonna come with that a year of that connected service so -- traffic for your weather. Or fuel prices even cool local search if you wanna find a point of interest but not in -- and the built in database and if you like to go eleventh. Small mom and pop restaurants and you know places that are major -- it's really good for that. They're both gonna have that as well. Excellent. Other news that Bentley. Just unveiled the yet 2011 version of the continental GT. It's a bigger -- -- a wider car actually widen the track a little bit but more BP fenders on it. They've also -- -- double horseshoe design in the back which they borrowed from the Bentley more sigh and limited edition they've released earlier. The they've made the grill -- little more -- rights and dad but fortunately they've dental work on the engine. This cars powered by big. Twelve cylinder engine twin Turbo. And it. I -- 67 horsepower in the new version of the -- and 516. Pound feet of port. But to be more economical they -- this engine possible to run on 85 which is that 85% ethanol also notes that flex fuel -- now which. It's a little greener least that's what they're going war. -- they also -- -- you can run on regular unleaded too which is big surprise is most of these big -- luxury cars its premium unleaded only. And later next year they're actually gonna operate -- liter V8. For the continental GT. Now we have the oh wait we of the sort super sports version of the -- in as last year. Does you know phenomenal car I mean -- really sits -- this error error area. Extreme just luxury and performance. Housing has all wheel drive as part of it Andy you know handles is as good as it looks and it -- massive amounts of -- well. Interestingly they specifically told us not to put 85 it which is interest -- considering that they're green. Stand they specifically wanted to not to try pet which is interest -- -- -- that side in it. Maybe it wasn't ready for for prime time just then or I guess maybe -- is Ehrlich some sort of power loss between Vavuniya Connelly. The inferior fuel they don't if it in here. They don't say that specifically but I'm sure doesn't lose some horsepower it's pretty typical in a car that if you use. -- premium -- regular unleaded that you know every horsepower change. In the with that kind of -- -- between those NE 85 has less energy per gallon of and I understand so. -- They'll change the performance characteristics. -- Anderson about this cars the way it handles this it actually has a fuel sensor. And it can sense whether it's getting 85 or some other kind of fuel and will adjust the -- the engine program. The tonight at -- Back a third premium of third regular in the in the 3085 and he -- it says it'll. Figure it out we'll have the of one of those and and and try different experiments have to -- them deal there if -- -- -- -- -- will love that it'll figure that out to of course as far as it's actually got a full -- navigation system of course Bentley is owned by Volkswagen. So the hardware I believe it's similar to what -- actually some Audi a eight not too long ago. The new obviate. But Bentley -- their own graphical work on here and you know try to make it a a Bentley specific. -- input payment suite. That's got the normal things -- iPod integration and it's got navigation. And it'll actually the navigation will integrate with that Google. Google Maps and that's similar to what -- Audi announced for the new 88. So yeah I suspect -- lot of similarities behind the hardware. But Bentley -- -- that they designed the graphic interface for this in house. Of the -- looks huge in that picture. Q what an iPad they really -- that that that senator stack which is often look at the last time again the left and we drove a continental we are extremely pissed off by. How -- the Kevin technology wasn't such an expensive cars mean we have briefing on this Thursday -- you get with. Probably close to 200 K I mean I think it comes in just under 200 K. Then you start adding options you know when you get the in of the leather you know -- put liner for her whenever. You know via an automatic shoe polish her yeah anything you can get out of and that it out and quickly in -- -- like this swell more affordable car that he got the news for months to come here. -- Mazda is actually. They've kind of announced there we get the news on their new model line about coming up in that it has 112012. They've -- it previously announced they have their their sky engines. Which is a direct injection kind of engine. Both in diesel and gasoline and they. And they're they're gonna start down launching that vehicles with those address injection -- Power trains them. -- well a little ways government down 20142015. Model years is when they're actually going to be coming out so. You know expect maybe. 202000. At twelve -- -- actually we see here that the first one's gonna be here in 2011. And then that's guider and then a direct connection -- diesel will appear in 2012. So that says that -- is actually gonna be stay on track to do a diesel in the US. Now what car that'll be we're not really -- They just launch -- the two which is there they're very small. Car that uses a similar platforms via -- -- them. That to. Although they've been Mazda has not said which cards will get the direct injection yet. Interest in step up RX eight here and you're a big -- and and those just about dead finger like what's going on with that. It's they they're not actually ditching that -- there was there's been a lot of speculation that directs it was -- down. But they say they're going to continue producing -- for the 2011 model year. And changes unchanged and and and it's been around as the -- they've you know the one we know for quite a long time so it's. It's really do for updates. They are looking at Megan's unpaid student 2012. But. And they're also looking at -- do we -- Really big redesign. So they're sticking with the -- -- means that they're also sticking with the rotary technology because that's pretty much the the cornerstone of anything with an RX in the name is that it's got that winkle rotary engine -- so if basically they mean is this some sort of way it's been slightly thing that we're working on sky rotary. And Natalie -- I mean. Won't we feel like they're kind of sports cars and shift. Away from the -- wrinkled. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- What I would expect to actually as they -- they won't watch the -- state sales you know they can still crank out of human sell them. They'll still do that maybe do minor body. A -- to doesn't well. But I think -- that I edit the future of our state as well -- still in question. They should. Should work on something electric. Something is -- is via RX seven electric kind of challenge the whole. If -- karma and the kind of upcoming you know when he what what Tesla doing as of coming out with -- really sporty. A little electric roadster. That that would be a -- although the mas is really kind of -- reconstituted on this direct injection technology it is up their fuel economy and on an economy and I understand they they really want to push up to forty maybe fifty miles per gallon. You know obviously than that small relic -- -- -- it helped get them there. It's -- they've also got a a -- -- coming out of the CX five. And that's gonna be if -- going to be. He's done what platform -- -- at a platform why it's really replacement for the Mazda tribute which is their will make that the ethnic -- -- they still do actually. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- So it's gonna be it's -- be -- -- -- that's gonna be based on some sort of -- the platform so let me share with the month with the many TV image -- three. It's about that size that we'll be right. Most likely interest in and out the a -- five is they're small little kind of weird minivan kind of thing. And the CX five will probably be not to has been -- that I can imagine. The -- feel a little higher if if if that mean if it's gonna be a replacement for the Tribune distributed fit. A little bit higher than your average sedan the the modified fit. You know belt where you would fit in a regular sedan it's just that it's gets longer. A lot longer actually. And yet and the ads then they're going -- get cross over to the CX seven territory which is more of and full size five. Seat crossover. We had a picture of the the new that I mean new -- five years and that's got -- -- -- design language if easy looking at. This would this would be kind of you know -- is on the side. And it's a lot like going on broad basically it and you need man. But they've also decided to changed their -- -- it was -- is -- -- disarmament which they're gonna get into we'll see that. And that coming rent -- car shows. Coming up Paris next month. While -- -- news here. You want to live like the king -- Mercedes-Benz 600 is up for auction. This is the 1960s. Actually these -- 21970. There's two of them 1970s Mercedes-Benz six hundreds. Previously owned by Elvis and one of apparently one of the few cars that was actually registered in his own name. And it looked like -- -- dictator which. I'm exploring dictator police cars were directly that -- -- another name but he certainly was the grocer. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- And dad yet partnered at a special law on these big things that one point. That a lot of famous people on these cars I think he they point out that they yummy and I think and one that Tito owned one you don't do -- -- -- -- What's interesting is that it says that it -- the -- in picking up for 151000. Dollars and they're expecting it. To go for about 230000. Dollars to 300000. Dollars -- them -- appreciation here. Based purely on the the previous owner of the vehicle. I I think that has to have a big yet the impact on who like the -- -- yet you're looking and -- and his -- Had all the luxuries for the -- some very big innovations -- tech innovations for 1970. Hydraulic and everything like even hydraulic power windows. Yet in place after that while it won't let alone when I'm actually really interested and and and is in the article and -- that. Then they got nobody Ferrari 550 TTV that they could looking weird looking bad looking car if all the same time. It looks like a mother I didn't mean and made -- Kind of looks like from the units -- through a drive error it wouldn't be at least in the Speed Racer movie it just labelled as for no reason in this port to publicly they go nowhere and yet I really like they did you know really love it when. I guess only lake a coach -- kind of designer can do stuff like if religious. Through practicality to the wind just do something that's interesting -- -- especially considering now and in my opinion release all current external moral of the things. By if you have a lot of money to spend there's the option happens in Surrey England on December 6 will now you there that the that you can buy your big Mercedes nearly -- bodied. Ferrari's. So I -- them that's it for the news of move on to our emails and voicemails that it does look we have in what's -- this week. But if you wanna send him in next week give us the call 1866. Oral one CNET and -- with a message. We love to hear from you. The first one -- it's in the first two gunmen kill two birds one stone here we get Tony in Florida. And -- in Baltimore Maryland and they're both rating in similar generation Honda Accord -- edit 2000. -- LX and Mets get to 74 EX in both of them are trying to figure out ways to hook up. Their portable. Media players that -- -- -- and actually state what he's using. But met specifically actually -- Tony says that he's using an Android. Listen honorable. And and that definitely specifically state what he's using the says that he wants some sort of -- aux Jack. -- you look like iPhone iPod. And they want to know if it's easy to do how to do it and how to do it without completely tearing -- your dashboard. I found and a tutorial on a site called Buford -- -- Four and I hide adapter installation. For the -- degeneration of Honda Accord that -- -- were talking about. And it's actually step by step installations for installing what's called the blitz -- Honda are DNA could be. Point two at the long name we're gonna put the link in the show notes so that you can I get an idea of looking at it is basically. And aftermarket auxiliary inputs module that you can add to this generation of Honda Accord head unit and it plugs right into your stock unit. And basically you get in -- RCA to eight inch adaptor from RadioShack and you give deploy your Android phone up your iPhone. -- -- up whatever you want to -- so we've got step by step directions here on how to do that. That adaptor is gonna cost you about 75 to ninety dollars that specific -- -- model that curtail. Of units going for as low as fifty so if you wanna do some research and find which one of those auxiliary adapters will work for your car you might -- on a good deal you may actually be able to even find. This -- safe. An adapter for even cheaper and when you're done you end up with. Would look like that right there and out cable -- you can either rent -- glove compartment or this particular person. Drill a hole in dashboard and ran it through there. And that that pretty easy way to do it looks like the installation is the plug and play kind of thing it should take about an hour to -- looks like. Now for about maybe twice the price of that they'll put 650. To 200 can you get. A new head unit that might give you something smarter than just a simple aux Jack -- Yet you could you can you he could do that in India would probably be easier to use -- view and have to actually physically reached -- and mess with your phone. The reason I chose to go this route if ALO to burn the -- -- and Kendall an injury question and not a question with one -- for -- it seems like they both kind of want some sort of -- way to keep there factory stereo and particularly. Met because he's you know asking about not. Doing damage to the -- -- I'm assuming that at some point he's gonna wanna sell the car. And -- this'll prevent you from haven't put the factory stereo back in when you're done you can just leave the aux cable hanging out here glove compartment it'll be in nice bonus for the next owner. -- Hondas are pretty popular cars -- to there's a lot of drivers out there you're dead. Benefit from this are wanting as far as point -- panels -- -- you're kind of an expert at that. How. Easy -- is that the deal on -- like that. They usually held in with friction clips and you know you won't see any way to do it that there's usually like a little plastic clip with -- -- you release of the plastic tab of little metal clip. And -- held in with frictions that you get yourself. Nice why flathead screwdriver -- butter knife either -- the end and masking tape or something for you don't scratch it or get yourself what a -- Or something like that that you don't -- the plastic panel -- kind of you know -- the end of year. Whatever object using the wage in this kind of -- the panel out and if you go in the order that the instructions. Give on this site you won't really do you really run into too much. Issues with that is -- -- mean you probably need of screwdriver at some point some of the panel may actually be Obama's -- the for the most part. You just go out there is -- in the panels off. I mean -- there's going to be some. Some some you know they're they're. Held on their pretty good over the clips as you know don't worry about -- worry about break in of -- dispute permit gentle in the operate off. They actually also still. Specific I guess what panel popping little tools but it's basically just -- wage. Rea Reppas -- would look for take immediate yeah. -- -- Sam from the northeast he does doesn't exactly aware brightness to ask us about. Whether to get the Infiniti G 37 sport or non sport. He says he's planning and invited 2011 infinity -- 37 X too soon as wondering what we think it via sport package. He says that them and describes is driving so someone who -- the idea of sporty driving but never really gets the chance to you. Probably given the traffic and whatnot the -- All over the country now says there's no I canyons -- mountains to speak of where he lives. And most -- most roads are not perfect either they're also very a lot of potholes and cracks. Says that you're quite -- are now there'll be some nights roads but 95% of the time and I haven't had -- suburban urban public roads. You think I would love or hate the sport suspension on the -- 37. He took a used to have the Lexus I ST fifty. And both it was a little too soft specially since the seats were like clouds. That doesn't sound like a bad thing actually seats like clouds. But that gaming and mustard from the -- around really hard and a quarter. I would say you know the sport suspension is actually -- we criticize -- little bits. For being a little bit harsh. But it's really not bad I mean compared to the standard Infiniti G 37 without the sport package. Which has a very nice refined and driving characteristic. The the sport package it's a little step but it's not bad -- it's not like an economy car and it's not like really hardcore sports are. -- -- it's one of those things where but an egg if if you're never gonna use port -- for another kind of person who seeks the mountain route on the weekend or the united think -- either with the contract ever. Especially in 1937 X. -- -- you know the kind of person who actively seeks -- to having it be just. Like to give it a little extra loop comin' up the -- -- when you get it clearly -- it -- it. What -- -- also as with the 37 and with the S -- packages. -- they put these that summer tires on there are pretty standard with a -- tunes. You know small. Low profile tires. And while the you know there's just a lot of grip on those things at all I've I've -- slipped and just animal light mist. And this summer tires yet yet I mean -- and also they they wear faster. Steve you replacing them couple thousand miles sooner than you would deals he's usually have a little bit higher -- -- At that it's a big part of the prominent these in the northeast where there's gonna be whether. Has certainly going to be whether he's gonna have to have a set of which -- tires or or you know the actual winter months that they have there. That you have the -- One he also mentions is the sport parodies like and he's than the automatic so it is fundamental sport package you'll come with -- chapters. That I don't think that's not really -- that at all if you're gonna get a sport. As parents -- -- to better have a manual transmission because you're just not gonna be much at all -- being automatic. -- I -- day I don't really have anything against health sectors I think they're kind youthful. If you don't treat them like you're in a Formula One cars you're not gonna be able to blip township coming into a corner and -- the united going to be able to do that but. For that one situation where -- in traffic behind from -- he's going kind of slow traffic moving on your left hand side. And you just wanna get down a gear and be ready to hit it when -- when we didn't win in opening opens up for you if bit -- -- the week for the transmission ago. Oh you're ready to accelerate now down shift and you know you've missed the whole -- in there you're opening it closed. Especially with a slower automatic transmissions -- there's. Many that are just yet you David take forever to step down yet you're just wait and -- useful like enemy in -- is it makes you feel good about -- in the army a lot of the fun of driving cars in my opinion is the feel -- we're none of us -- Formula One drivers and achieving. Seconds off of our lab time to the grocery store have been mean if it makes you feel cool the -- that for a -- panel legal or. Second and that's -- annex that John from Portland -- is asking us not the northeast the northwest actually. Nastiness -- -- -- seventeen year old. And he's about and bad. It'll of his dad's black 1986. BMW 635 CSI. I -- the -- -- a lot but has 200000. Miles on it and dad seems like something is breaking like every day. Most recently -- automatic transmission. He's -- city keep the 66. The major issues and slowly restore the small things. And he also points out that them. Or he wants there's should get -- another smaller there are different sirens about 90151000. Spend the he likes European cars. Just points out that this thing. And the six as it was a plane stripes on what they could. Sort of the emails that dead -- cut some crazy plans for -- and we got a picture of 86. The 35 but not not stability is talking about. United I think the -- it'd be in the least exodus one of the vessel in cars. -- one that's what if there's a BMW has made the minute you that are out there. That -- -- sixty is really nice looking car but to 1000 miles. While that's scary going to be viewed edited and a -- -- and they're not cheap repairs. And even if if hear that kind of person who likes -- -- underneath the current and surround it could be a good opportunity to learn a lot. About fixing cars. I think you know but the thing it's really cool to have -- he would first of all. The six is a very cool car and I mean how many cool cars at seventeen year old Avi here of any card you can really get at seventeen that are -- cool. I mean they may actually be -- -- you know till you know learn a little bit about reaching travel cool car. But it does that -- and -- we've all had our beater cars that did. We tried to keep running because we love the look of it united Baghdad a six at one point and yeah I did -- the repair shop frequently and -- -- a few other cars like that you actually think dodge swinger but that the and it is you know I think it's a rite of passage -- -- opinion you've gotta do at some point -- -- seventeen yeah he may be needs to go through that. And if you -- time to do it mean where you gotta be. If -- School -- You can -- -- -- that and it Kobe drive in the star into the parking -- your high school or whatever. -- -- if he doesn't wanna get smaller car daylight in for the -- -- if you like it used BW GTI that money buried car yeah that's that's a lot of fun. Or -- BM WZ three. Not Soviet Union that that it sounds like an accident waiting to happen -- and if any if it in that was when you get I mean. However mean that the issue -- gonna one point nine or two point variants. -- both good cars and I guess. -- they get the idea say if while we're on the subject of you know we're on a good rule here -- card by information we've got. An email coming in listener whose. Looking for car between 25 and 27 -- you've narrowed it down to -- VW GT -- to -- WR it meant that Impreza. And he's not too worried about tech and you'll probably your plea -- -- -- -- where his own good guy. Which one do we think it's a better guy now -- Not here this week of course but he he fit does his -- and he says that I like the handling and understated nature of the GT I'd better plus. I find also be motors are a little course -- That's cool ways to send -- right -- -- that. I'd -- disagree with those in the motor statement there is that -- on in mechanical. Feeling about the yes Hebrew. Switch to the WRX. In but that's -- that all wheel drive which is a really nice. Thing to have. -- in that aren't you -- from the ground a little bit. And it looked. The business as that you like that -- analytic current of the realistic and it well it's really important to you to note the difference between the 2011 that directs in the 2000 and that he or spray. Because 2011 -- the wider track the -- -- looks very cool. You know you're looking is that he doesn't and then abducting over the GTI. Also considered theirs also was the first generation and that body style 2000 -- 2009. Was actually down forty horsepower. And basically they -- at the concept -- and there were showing. But that the first iteration of that was down -- for you worth power and everyone complain if they paid that the -- of your active. Kind of wimpy in -- that sorry about that they give us forty horsepower for that the 2010 model year. Also be aware of what year you're looking at that. I don't really think the W Urich -- -- really in the same class. I mean if you're tied him up performance that the group kind of out performs. The GTI head and shoulders I mean if if you're not looking at tech. If you're looking at getting X forty card you get more for your money with the January -- -- think more space. More doors will depending on which to tell -- -- and and more. Power the -- a lot of fun I gotta admit it's it's more the -- use when it. Throw rip on a parking logs go crazy in or something like that -- is better actually feel a little more serious in that car. And if you can't -- manual. Definitely the GT that if the DJ at gonna come with the DFG that dual clutch transmission of a much better automatic transmission and he ruthless spot. And if you can -- Emanuel and -- the kind of -- And here's where they actually actually the big point -- is that I'm not a fan of disagrees that transmission at all -- speed manual nineties. Did not like that and I mean maybe if you got the short -- kit on -- be okay but. At an -- -- bother me so much that original wanna I would advocate of the DSD do you. And they can I maybe had driven a vehicle recently that had such a bad transmission of the Subaru is the breath of fresh here at no believe that car was aren't they have also consider in that price range -- the -- -- three. If you're looking for all out performance got those same power as -- -- Pro will drive so it's a bit of an issue for me but it also a really fun aren't it means you -- -- that you like and even. It's a -- cards it the past aren't limited slip differential upfront means it handles really well. Tuesday added that that that that by another good one look at with some unique styling. You. Moving on now -- cards will cars we've. Gotten into -- little do you have when we keep on getting emails with more pictures of your -- immediate more little car emails per week the questions this week which is I guess the testament to with -- fifth of the statement. Right. Our latest one -- is -- possible. Bring this up here. We'll just go through a couple of our cars here. The the first and we have the Lemmon had dumped. This is actually a -- Grand Prix all been pretty yet. Lemmon had. -- it seemed a limited can be -- I don't know where this comes from but it's raised up bond. Who -- -- point something you have been a big one big -- art is. The if you look at the second interior photo. There's actually a large container of limb and head and that on the thinner -- -- tunnel. This is awesome I figure you're gonna have -- limited car you should have some candy in there. Women that is got an pitched an idea for marketing or like also -- -- Lambeau doors on this thing is one shot of it with the add doors night that would. It's a little bit -- those don't even have -- movement has -- -- that but just Grand -- does. And often musical -- the foot building get in it. Our next guy hurt his and tag line is I think we need more light South -- this is the -- track that's loaded with as for lights across the top. Four lights across the -- -- -- -- aftermarket. Add ons. Like high -- Flood light. -- -- -- I don't know if -- felt the Gillick oh final wrap on it that can get it read in black here take zero liberate in -- of course lifted it is a big truck. Or are. Brian T thin this and he fit than actually fell to from the parking lot of how the -- institute and he loves it there. I think yet -- even more -- the mean they could put late from the review -- in the light in the wheel wells maybe even on the -- themselves if from the rear facing light. And like an aircraft carrier exactly. Next step we've yet the who. Witnesses and this looks like it choke I don't know it's don't know of the -- -- X 6000 -- That's a pain javits a direct custom paint job on this car Alatas -- were rolls looks like. I don't click Sony left about overnight and you know local -- -- it's got that it. I don't know if that's like a case of your friends cranking you or you just saying -- -- -- yank it down Vanilli Prewitt I'm who's gonna color. And they're different color -- old. -- even the windows have things drawn on them and -- what's going on here. Today if you've got an old clunker carry out why not just. APEC out of it we -- -- out of the back of it too and it's is that I like this. Ctrl+Alt+Del suspended across the back which president and under the firewall while ago yeah on the other -- -- have blue ribbon sticker off and those clearly. Critiquing and you decided to do this to his vehicle. And -- finally we've got picture. -- news. Sent in by Matt asks he says. This is sort of a military truck looks like when because that deuce deuce and -- half. Big gap flatbed military truck with a camper just. Set on the -- that. You know I'm sure you can go pretty far in deep into the wilderness and and dead drive over small houses. With this vehicle and in camp pretty much anywhere you want it's the more than the 800 pound gorilla. But I think you're going to get him up by miles per gallon you click on it. The prime nature thing and I just noticed if that ended this when -- posted a but it -- the gallery that looks like that can't prevent if held on. With -- That let those ten steps that you kind of like ratchet in the place that and that's all that's holding and onto the back in what's interesting about that. If that -- -- that after he took this picture. He looked closer and found there actually people in the camper that being held on with -- -- they're going they're rolling down the rooted. What we need of reasonable speeds in a camper that Mercury. -- balance this tractor I don't really -- it in an accident waiting to happen and destructive probably barely top and what about miles per hour -- it's horrible that. Alright so -- -- that you can go ahead and send us any more -- cars. We are car tech at cnet.com -- to see pictures. The interest -- creations. You see on the road them. -- now are on the road it's me -- -- -- Antuan in the 2000. Ten -- 2011. Kia Sportage. Or sports Hodges. We've been things. The premium editions -- -- You still need 2.4 liter four cylinder engine and -- -- and it shows it. -- For calories but it perfectly competent. Where it is a surprise it's all -- and its its horsepower but actually feels pretty good in this vehicle. Out -- its lightweight or something like that but it definitely feels like you've got enough power to do pretty much and if you don't wanna do with this are. And it's a pretty good looking vehicles -- About tires like older vehicle -- -- there really sporty looking youthful. How does give all -- and this is the premium edition. Is just under 3030 grand. And that means. IDs and interior and you know it's not bad but it's a hard -- around -- -- got a pretty good cabin tech. Packaging care for the price and there you grant you did. Really. Well integrated kind -- like navigation system that splash page. It's got traffic that's provided by serious. XM satellite. And we really like this obvious them also. IPod again satellite radio I really like the design. Of this interface here let's hear it shows the this kind of circular thing easy presets in the big buttons to use -- there there. Get to do use while you're driving. Because you can see things quickly you know have figured it on the road. More than a couple seconds. And Angelina back next -- this this is an available quite yet quite yet but to actually later this year they're gonna be coming out the new system called you. You BO. And that that sort of means your voice and somewhere -- and that system will allow voice control over order connect. -- The system that was developed in partnership -- -- on -- and you're gonna kind of expect them. Microsoft foresee the level. Accuracy and and -- and -- here. Overall pretty nice package here good looking modern -- Decent value. The big thing LA without pilots do it ports. That's -- key has portage horse or tied -- audio sported just we're Taj. The productive forties my entire life. Well I mean as long as it's been around and enrollment currently. Do you call it beef or Thais had -- -- -- were taught that and I think it looks ranchers something well not only I'd -- -- yeah yeah. -- very Korean. Yet at text he had nice looking guy -- this. This -- and business that car is just I think and it's really the more I drove this car and the more I you know -- considered it it's just. -- -- of the great like all purpose vehicle. With that sort of seen for five cargo room. You know and good if not great the good cabin electronics nothing super innovative. Right and I'm gonna government definitely agree with you on the looks love the way this car looks it -- it. It's one of this fortieth looking. Crossovers that I have seen on the road and basically -- what. BMW's been trying to do with their likes forty feet to cross -- could be things. But it does so with that the traditional profiled. Very interesting I think all Kia cars and image and and a -- really good look in the days. They've really -- yet a new line of cars they've been really got a solid and consistent design language and and that really makes a difference in mimic the brand can hold together. The united. You just know all the cars kind of came from the same place and if you don't think that's a bad place that's good. Yet -- I think interesting -- ten years ago I put key in the same Dan Daewoo. And just -- key -- and he was aircraft cart now lumping them in the same. Then if Honda and Toyota and considering them a nice alternative to those vehicles in the mini mini -- actually a better alternative. A depending on which when you're talking about. Price wise they're they're they're very competitive. Until you start upping the trim level I mean are fully loaded. Hi trim. Was about -- close to 30000 just under even it did have a premium package which you know brother mother seats which are kinda nice and you know the smart key system which is kinda nice and and the panoramic sunroof thing uses. You know filled us and groups. -- over the 3000 dollar package that you shop that -- your -- down 26 something with the navigation in the -- electronics package and so that that's not too bad. But I would not buy this card now yeah well -- that because we're getting there will. Different Kevin take packaged in a later right now actually it's not so much the cabin -- package because that you -- system which you would bad. It's gonna be very interesting that the Pakistan and agreed with the navigation is. In a fight scenes and I better to a different and yet it seems like it's gonna be -- we got a play within it CES last year and having it a couple of the other cartoon. They came between now and then it. Looks really awesome and and biblically it can be very usable but and making people choose between listening to music and getting where they're both ago is kind of weird. And you can listen to music and in the current when he decided yet -- and it manually on the screen but the big -- -- is next year. They're gonna replace they're gonna offer a version that's X version -- version with a two liter Turbo direct injection -- It sounds like it's going to be any discipline had a good amount of power it felt alright yeah originally sent. With the what does this have to point for it but well 170 something if get -- lot of power does it feel. Like I thought it was gonna field which is basically -- and robbery. Yeah part of that that part of the way they get away with that is that the -- only weighs about 3300 pounds. At some -- -- -- -- -- you know that I've been treated at surprising that thinking that you know management card that -- these days. The but the new engine will produce 270 horsepower that's a hundred horsepower better. In the current and didn't. And given that at the Turbo and direct injection it probably won't be too bad and fuel economy either limit how much more is that gonna cost of -- Widget engine and the enemies with the premium today that Howard -- students -- -- horsepower -- idea that that that that hit the brakes on the you can. Dash and it'll at least delegate you to be able to pass emerged and climb hills and all that well Leo great to suspension to go along with that if there's nothing more than. Putting too much power through the front wheels or even all wheels. And a vehicle that it that the internet's not tuned for it means more power bitter suspension -- -- -- -- need -- -- -- with a -- So you pretty much -- expect it -- sort of all encompassing treatment. -- and what they're they're doing these days which is did and -- yet he very interesting stuff. Moving on into the CNET -- you should. We just it's posted a first take on the 2011 Hyundai what's. This is a big luxury car from child Hyundai I would -- -- -- that review of the 2011 Kia Sportage George Fort Dodge however you want to say yes. I just came into the garage -- they -- -- 2011 Ford Edge was he had -- my Ford touch. Navigator. The instrument cluster very interesting and upcoming we have 82010 Subaru Legacy. Three point six are.
