-Hi!
I'm Sharon Vaknin for cnet.com.
I'm here with the first look at the Vizio XVT3D650SV.
This is a 3D TV and it comes with all the general features like Edge Lit LED dimming, full 1080p video, and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
What Vizio is really pushing with this TV is its theater 3D.
So unlike many of the 3D TVs which use active glasses,
so those are battery-powered glasses with electrics in them, this TV uses passive 3D glasses like the ones you get in the movies; hence the name, theater 3D.
Now, what Vizio tells us about this technology is that it's a lot easier on the eyes because the glasses aren't constantly shutting out the left or right eye.
The switching is actually done within the TV.
Also, because the glasses don't have any electrics in them, they are a lot cheaper and a lot lighter.
So Vizio actually includes 4 pairs of these glasses in the box; 2 stylish ones and 2 generic ones.
And if you need to purchase more, Vizio says they'll be about $10 to $20.
Unlike the active glasses which cost around $100 and sometimes don't come in the box.
Now, the TV we're looking at here is actually equipped to run the versus, head-to-head gaming technology which means that 2 players can play against each other without a split screen.
So one player wears the left eye glasses and the other player wears the right eye glasses and each player only sees their own character.
Like a lot of the TVs now, this TV also comes with internet services and VUDU which also streams 3D content.
And to control all of these features, this TV comes with QWERTY Bluetooth remote.
The TV is available right now for $3500.
