>> Hi, I'm David Katzmaier senior editor from CNET.com and this is the Toshiba 52LX177. It's a 52 inch flat panel LCD. And this sets claim to fame it's the first we've reviewed with a 120 hertz refresh rate, a little bit more on that later. First, the styling of this TV, it's actually a little bit chunky around the edge of the screen here unlike a lot of recent LCD's. Of course, it does have the glossy black coloring and this distinctive large U shaped stand. So, you're gonna need to get yourself a pretty big stand to support this set. Around back, you'll find a good selection of inputs, three HDMI, one PC, and two component video. You find a lot of adjustments in the picture menu of this TV including color management system to play around with primary and secondary colors along with adjustments for the 120 hertz mode. We took this TV in the lab to test it and the 120 hertz mode did eliminate a little bit of motion blur in some areas such as a ticker on ESPN. But, overall, we don't see too much motion Blur in fast motion on regular 60 hertz LCDs. So, the improvement was not drastic in our opinion. There's also the ability to smooth out pans on this TV and make them really kinda look like they're on rails. Some people watching film actually do want a little bit of jutter, some stutter in the full frame. So, you can actually turn that on and off. We preferred to leave it off. There's also the ability of this TV to produce a relatively good black level although they're not quite as good as a lot of the LCD's we've seen out there. And as we've mentioned color, accuracy's a little bit suspects. The sian [Sp?] in particular made the picture look a little bit too green. So, that's one issue of this TV we wish could be improved. That's a quick look at Toshiba's 52LX177 and I'm David Katzmaier.
