These are the top five smart TV systems.
Chances are if you are buying a TV, you're not getting a dumb one.
So as we do with our TV base things, we pick the brain of CNET's resident TV genius, David [UNKNOWN] to come up with this ranking.
Let's get to it.
At number 5, Vizio's Smartcast.
It's similar to the Google Chromecast in operation.
Some Vizio TVs come along with a tablet, and others require to use your phone.
So everything you love or hate about the Chromecast applies here.
That's a rich amount of apps, but highly dependent on another device.
And number four, LG WebOS.
WebOS, what an interesting history you've had.
However, your present is powering LG TVs.
And you know what?
It's pretty doing good.
Web OS is simple and it uses a motion remote for control.
That's way easy than clicking a button over and over again.
And number three, Samsung.
Samsung smart TV software has matured over the years.
Smart TV isn't just about which apps you have.
Samsung smarts also allow you to plug in a device during your TV set up and the TV will try to recognize the device From there, you can use Samsung's remote to control other components.
And about those apps?
Samsung does have a good set of apps for your basic needs.
And #2, Android TV.
You'll find Android running on certain Sony and Sharp televisions.
Android TV has a great selection of apps and is easy Plus it's really stable.
Then it also has Chromecast abilities so if you want to send over things from your phone, you can but you don't have to.
And at number 1 is Roku.
Yes, it's really hard to beat any TV running Roku Interface.
It has pretty much every major video app you could ever want.
Roku software can be found on lots of different TVs, including those made by Sharp, Hitachi, and TCL.
Roku is the best smart TV system you'd find today.
