The Glyph Blackbox Plus is one excellent USB-C portable driveCNET editor Dong Ngo explains how you can't drop anything irresponsibly, including the rugged and all-around great Blackbox Plus portable drive from Glyph.
[SOUND] Hi guys, this is the Blackbox Plus portable drive from Glyph. Now, it's black and it's a box, so there's not much to elaborate on there, but this [UNKNOWN] has a lot of plusses. For example, it's made of full metal casing here, very solid. And it come with this rubber case too, to keep it safe from drop. Obviously you shouldn't drop it but if you accidentally do, chances are the data will be okay. Now, [UNKNOWN] has a USB-C port here and it supports USB 3.1 gen 2, which has the top speed of ten gigabit per second. It include two cables. One regular USB-C for use with a computer that has USB-C port. And the other one, USB-C to USB--A cable that works with all existing computer Now, no matter what table you use, the [UNKNOWN] is fast. In my testing, we use 3.1, it had to sustain real [UNKNOWN] copies with almost 150MB/s for writing and almost 160MB/s for reading. Those are the first ever seen for a regular purple drive that houses a regular hard drive on the inside. But the drive here is also available with SSD also option which would be a lot of faster, but of course, at higher cost. And speaking of cost, the driver is not too expensive. For example, this one terabyte capacity here of hard drive Can be had for $120. It's also available in 500 gigabyte and two terabyte for hard drive. Or 512 gigabyte and one terabyte for some state options. Now if your computer doesn't have usbc this drive here is not a must buy but if you're looking for a fast rugged compact portable hard drive that works well now And it's also future proof, you cannot go wrong with this Blackbox Plus here. Again though, do not count on the drop persistent feature, I have a lot of dropped purple drives but the last time I dropped, the lady had her heart broken Very strange. But maybe that's because I'm Dum Go and this is the Blackbox Plus portable drive from Glyph. [SOUND]
