Tesla to demo 'unreal' Tesla truck on Oct. 26, says Elon MuskIt's a month off schedule, but Elon Musk has confirmed Tesla will demo its "beast" of an electric freight truck in Hawthorne, California.
You're going to have to wait a little longer to see Teslas first electric big rig after Elon Musk announced the much hyped freight truck is going it be unveiled on October 26th. Musk first brought up the concept of a Tesla semi truck in July 2016, while unveiling his master plan. In April this year he said the truck would be unveiled in September, saying it would be seriously next level. Now, that first ride has been pushed back a month. But, Musk promises the electric vehicle will be unreal. Of course Tesla isn't the first EV manufacturer to the semi truck party. In late August, rival manufacturer Cummins demoed its electric semi known as the Aeos. The 18,000 pound Aeos is capable of carrying a 44,000 pound payload, but it's only [UNKNOWN] to have a 100 mile range. By comparison, Tesla's truck is reported to have more than double that with a range of 2 to 300 miles. Tesla's October 26th unveiling is scheduled to take place in Hawthorne, California right next to the SpaceX facility where Tesla has held previous launches. Musk is hoping car fans will be impressed, saying that we are going to want to see this beast in person.
