We've talked today about how TCL is delivering better looking pixels in our TV this year, more colorfully and with better contrast.
Well what about more pixels you say?
We've got those too.
How about 33 million pixels in a TV this year compared with only 8.3 million in today's 4K TV's.
That's the difference that 8K resolution brings.
That's 16 times the resolution available in the full HDTVs that the majority of US homes now have.
And it's quadrupled the number of pixels available in today's high performance 4K TVs.
Yes, more pixels means more image clarity, a better image, especially in the biggest TV screen sizes.
As more consumers buy 65 75-inch and even larger screens for their homes.
We believe that those consumers will naturally choose the greater screen resolution of 8K for those big screens just as consumers have already done with 4K TVs.
Only a few years after the first 4K TVs were launched, now nearly 100% of TVs in 55 inches and larger Sold here in the US last year were a 4K resolution, and we believe that in the next few years consumers will naturally select 8K TVs in 65 inches and larger just as quickly as 4K was adopted.
And because of our belief in the future growth of 8K display technology, TCL has just joined with other display industry leaders To establish the new 8K Association.
We look forward to seeing results from the 8K Association as they promote the benefits of 8K resolution to consumers and to other industry partners such as streaming service providers.
We expect that the 8K Association will be an important catalyst to rapidly grow the global adoption of this exciting big screen technology.
In North America, we are partnering together with Roku to develop the first 8K TCL Roku TV this year.
In other markets around the world, the Q8 and X10 series of TVs will be available in 8K resolution in screen sizes of 75 inches and larger.
Each of these TVs will feature powerful upscaling performance to skillfully covert today's 4K content that delivers a new sense of depth and clarity.
And with support for the latest HDMI standards these 8K TVs will be ready for the next stage of 8K content.
As new devices come to the market that are ready to receive 8k movies, games, and more.
