In iOS8, Apple finally makes it easy to get a sense of which apps are placing the biggest drain on your battery life.
Open up your settings, and go to general usage, and then battery usage.
You'll see a break down of which apps are most affecting your battery life
[INAUDIBLE] Armed with this information, you can then double tap on the home button, find the offending app.
And force it to quit by flicking upwards.
This is especially useful if an app is using location services in the background, such as Foursquare or Yelp.
