Samsung Unpacked August: What to expect
Speaker 1: It's official. Samsung is holding its next galaxy unpacked event on August 11th. We're expecting new foldable phones and maybe a few other things let's get into it.
Speaker 1: Samsung sent out invites for its virtual unpacked event and the company isn't hiding much. The tagline is get ready to unfold. There are a couple of abstract images of the galaxy fold and the galaxy flip the event is slated for 7:00 AM Pacific on the 11th of August. [00:00:30] So what do we know about the galaxy fold three and the next flip officially we know, however, there have been tons of leaks about each product. So let's dive into those. The ever Evan blast posted some fold, three news on Twitter, take a look at this rotating animation of what could be the galaxy fold three, you've got a slick looking cover screen on the back. There's a pill shaped camera assembly instead of that bulky domino of the fold two. And when the device is opened up, you've got a big tablet to work with [00:01:00] a report by the Alexa.
Speaker 1: As that the Z fold three will be a bit smaller than the fold. Two, the main display would be 7.5 inches, which is a tiny bit smaller than these 7.6 inch screen in the fold. Two, the fold three S cover screen would be 6.2 inches down a little from the fold two. The electro report says that the fold three will be a little wider. So it won't be as narrow feel as the fold two. Now it's hard to tell with the animated gift and renders, but the elect report says that the fold three [00:01:30] will have virtually no display bezels ice universe on Twitter said that the fold three and flip three will have the strongest folding screen tech and the worst spec camera, same as fold two back in may promo materials for the upcoming fold and flip seemingly leaked. The inter display of the fold three would have an under display camera that could line up with ice versus worst spec camera line.
Speaker 1: August is usually the time we get new galaxy notes, but that is [00:02:00] probably not happening this year. Samsung did say it will try to release a note model in 2022, but don't fear a report from Sam mobile says that the fold three will work with the Spen Sam mobile posted FCC documents that describe a device working with an Spen in two different modes. The model mentioned in the FCC document is the SM F 9 26 U back in April max Wach of Android. Police said that the SM F 9 26 [00:02:30] U would be the model number of the Z fold three. So there may not be a note, but you should be able to write on the fold three, combine that with is versus mention of the strongest folding screen tech, and maybe it's going to work well. The older folding screens did not respond well to pressure.
Speaker 1: Let's talk about the galaxy flip three, Evan blast posted an anime gift of that too. It lines up with previous leaks. The front cover screen is a lot larger and is next to two cameras in the leaked promo [00:03:00] materials. The flip three would be wrapped in gorilla glass Victus, which is strong stuff. Both of these devices could be I P X eight rated according to max Wach. That means they would be able to be submerged in water deeper than one meter and survive. Samsung's previous foldables did not list IP ratings, who the hell is calling me right now, bowling alley. What else can you expect at unpacked on July 10th, Evan blast posted a thread with tons of animations. It looks like [00:03:30] there will be a Samsung galaxy S 21 F E the galaxy watch four and a pair of new truly wireless ear butts. All the devices I mentioned in this video would be available in multiple colors that galaxy watch for is one to pay attention to. It should be the first watch running the new version of Google's wear OS with Samsung's one UI over it. Previous galaxy watches used Samsung's own ties. OS I'm personally really curious about that new watch, which device are you most [00:04:00] cited for? Let us know. We will have live coverage of unpacked when it happens. Join us 7:00 AM Pacific on August 11th. I'm Maya, Zach Turner, and I'll see you online.
