The Samsung Galaxy S4 is poised to be the hottest Android
phone of the Summer.
After the blazing success of the Galaxy
S3, all Samsung has to do is not ruin a good thing.
But
maintaining the status quo isn't the kind of thing that typically
gets Android fans frothing at the mouth.
So if youÃ?re looking for
an excuse NOT to buy the Galaxy S4, IÃ?m here to count down
five reasons to just say no.
5.
Underdog Innovation
Starting off at #5: The Underdogs.
With the S4, Samsung is just
trying to hold their lead, so now it's on the underdogs to try to
steal the spotlight.
LG has those beautiful screens.
HTC has that
whole kinder, gentler, hipper take on Android.
Nokia is, uh...
What are they doing, anyway?
[show Windows logo] Oh right,
theyÃ?ll come around.
Point is, you never know what the next breakthrough feature will
be, but you can bet it'll come from a manufacturer with
something to prove.
4.
Boring design
The #2 reason NOT to buy a Galaxy S4: ItÃ?s boring.
ItÃ?s a big,
fast, totally boring looking phone.
ItÃ?s stamped from the same
smooth, nondescript plastic design as the S3, and when you take
it out, most people will think itÃ?s an S3.
If you want to get noticed,
go get an HTC One.
For the same money, you get twice the
storage and a design that is both elegant and unique.
I mean
really, isnÃ?t standing out from the crowd part of what attracted
you to Android in the first place?
3.
Galaxy S3
Alright, coming in at #3, the Samsung Galaxy S3.
If youÃ?re going
to walk around with something that looks like the S3, why not just
buy the S3?
This is a phone weÃ?ve been raving about all year?
And guess what?
ItÃ?s still awesome.
Plus, the S3 is a steal right
now.
So just upgrade that thing to Jelly Bean, buy a bigger case,
and no one will know the difference.
2.
Nexus 5
Coming in at #2: the Google Nexus 5.
Google has been putting
their stamp on some great hardware recently IÃ?m sure they wish
their Nexus phones got more respect.
With Google I/O right
around the corner, itÃ?s worth waiting to see if they have a killer
new phone to show off.
A new Nexus could also bring the first
taste of Android Key Lime Pie.
Man, I always get so hungry
when I do these Android stories.
Now before we get to the #1 reason to pass on the Samsung
Galaxy S4, lets balance things out with some reasons why the
S4 rocks.
It's on just about every carrier, it has some killer camera
features, quad-core processor, removable battery Android 4.2.2,
a big ol' screen, and you can even use it as a TV remote.
It was honestly pretty hard to come up with 5 reasons not to buy
this phone.
It won an Outstanding rating from CNETÃ?s Jessica
Dolcourt and an EditorsÃ? Choice.
So donÃ?t listen to me - go buy
this phone.
1.
The next Samsung phone.
That is, unless youÃ?re the patient type.
My #1 reason to pass on
the Galaxy S4: the next Samsung phone...
whatever it is.
You thought I was going to say iPhone, didn't you?
Shame on
you.
Nope, now that Samsung has a hit on their hands, they're
their own worst enemy.
That company cranks out different phone
models faster than Tumblr can crank out animated cat GIFs.
If the S4 isn't quite your cup of tea, just wait a minute for the
Galaxy Note III or any of the Galaxy remixes that will follow until
the Galaxy S5 rumors start bubbling up, and weÃ?ll be treated to
another head-scratching launch event.
Point is, thereÃ?s no rush,
and waiting will only work to your advantage.
So there you go, 5 reasons to take a deep breath and maybe
wait this one out.
