>> Add-on's a great little program that expands the usefulness of your browser; what about your e-mail. Installing add-ons in Mozilla's Thunderbird e-mail app is cumbersome involving saving to the desktop, blah. I'm Tom Merritt with CNET.com with a quicker way to install add-ons in Thunderbird. Now make sure you have the latest version of Thunderbird; I had an old version and it just didn't work until I updated. In Thunderbird, go to the Tools menu and select add-ons. This opens a window with your list of add-ons. Now go launch the FireFox or the Sea Monkey browser, either one, and go to add-ons.Mozilla.org, then scroll down and click on the Thunderbird link. Decide which extension you want to install. Now this next part is tricky do follow closely; don't get ahead of me. Hover over the text of the extension's install link; now left click and keep the button held down, drag your mouse cursor down to the Windows task bar and hover over the box for the add-ons window but still keep the mouse button held down. The add-ons window should now pop into the foreground. Now drag your mouse up into the window and you can finally let go; the add-on should begin its normal install process. In summary, click, hold, drag and drop. I hope this makes handling add-ons in Thunderbird a little easier for you. I'm Tom Merritt from CNET.com.
