And we're here taking a very first look at OnLive for tablets along with the bluetooth OnLive wireless game pad.
Now if you're not familiar with OnLive, essentially a streaming game service kinda like Netflix' for movies.
You play game usually on your laptop with the keyboard and mouse, or one of these wireless pads.
And somewhere on the remote render form a high end computer plays the actual game and essentially beams back video to your laptop and you watch the game unfold in real time.
There's a little bit of delay built in to the system.
We find it actually works pretty well with a lot of games and let you play a high end PC games on really low end laptops.
Now you can add tablets like Apple's iPod, Android tablets, even lot of smart phones to the mix.
That's because there's a new version of the OnLive app and also a new version of the wireless game pad which connect to a lot of different devices including via bluetooth, the iPod which we have not seen before.
Now we've been testing a bit of version of the new OnLive IOS app along with one of these wireless controllers for a couple of days now.
And the ability to play high end PC games on an iPod is actually really interesting.
It almost makes like a mini game consul more so than the traditional computer base version of OnLive.
This is much more dependent on the speed of your WiFi network because most tablets in more zone have an internet input.
We actually try this in our office on three different WiFi networks and we couldn't really get a satisfactory experience than we set up home and tried it on my personal WiFi network, and actually work fantastic, it really look like you're playing a high end PC your consul game right on your iPod and the wireless controllers have worked pretty good as well.
So in order to get the OnLive service on your tablet like your iPod or Android tablet, you download the Android or IOS app which is free.
And then you either buy individual games or you can get a monthly subscription that covers handful of older games and more casual games.
And then of course the wireless controllers about 50 bucks and should work with most of the games.
A handful of games, also have touched be in controls, being built in.
Including this new version of L.A. Noire which is actually pretty sweet and it's optimized for use on this particular system.
One last interesting note, there's actually also a version that's gonna be available on the kindle fire tablet but because the fire does not have bluetooth or any other way to get a wireless signal in there, you won't be able to use this wireless game pad.
You'll have to play the subset games that have on screen controls of them.
