Netpicks: Amazon Pilot Season kicks offFind out the newest stuff to watch online on Amazon, Netflix and how you can watch season six of "Community."
Community is coming back, but not to NBC, and Duck Season, I mean, Amazon pilot season. All of that and more on Netpicks. Let's talk about new releases. Amazon pilot season just kicked off on January 15th. You can watch, 13 new shows right now, then give Amazon your feedback, which Amazon will use to determine which shows to make a full series. I watched a couple, for science of course. From what I've seen, Salem Rogers: Model of the Year 1998 is kind of awesome. Starring Leslie Bibb and Rachel Dratch, it's directed by Mean Girls director Mark Waters. It's TVMA, so you might want to avoid watching it at work since there's some brief nudity and lots and lots of coarse language, which I didn't realize when I watched it at work. January 16th, The Adventures of Puss in Boots Season 1 hits Netflix. Because it's a Netflix original, I will definitely be watching this, because my son will force me to. On January 18th, on both Amazon Prime Instant Video and Netflix, you can watch Patton Oswalt special, Comedy Plus Tragedy Equals Time. Season six of Community is coming on March 17th. I know what you're thinking. Wait. Didn't NBC cancel that show? You're totally right. But Yahoo picked up Community and will stream the sixth season on its Yahoo screen property starting March 17th. Yahoo won't be pushing out all the episodes at once, instead opting for a weekly release every Tuesday. So what's going offline soon? You might have seen a report that originated from Vulture, saying that BBC shows like Doctor Who and Top Gear could be leaving Netflix by the end of January. A trip to the Netflix site says that Doctor Who, Luther, Top Gear and other BBC shows are available to stream up to February 1st. Now according to the bestofNetflix.com, quote the odds are very good that a deal will be reached within months or perhaps even weeks following the February deadline end quote.
