Need a new size? Just tap the mirror
The mirror, mirror on the wall may be more than a reflection after all.
In these digital dressing rooms, it's a touchscreen for customers.
Well now, you touch the mirror, and it tells you exactly what's in stock, and you can get it within a minute.
Besides sizes, customers can check additional colors, find matching accessories, adjust the lighting, and request help.
You're not gonna have someone knocking on the door all the time.
It's only the moment you want help.
They'll come to you.
Online retailer Ebay developed a technology that projects images onto the glass from behind.
Designer Rebecca Minkoff is the first to use this tech in her New York boutique.
Select Nordstrom department stores will also be testing Ebay's touchscreen mirrors.
While Bloomingdale's has its own version of the smart dressing rooms with tablets.
At the Rebecca Minkoff store, every item is marked with one of these special tags that transmits the item's data directly to the dressing room.
And then as soon as you walk into the dressing room, that item's specific information, size, color, immediately pops up on the mirror.
You can remember this visit so these items are saved, so you can purchase them later, online or through the app, or you can finish your session.
And you can check out using your PayPal account with the sales associate here.
And the clothes you didn't buy, the retailer now knows what you left behind.
It's kind of like, you know how you have an abandoned cart online?
Well now you have an abandoned fitting rooms.
So we can say hey, Car, you tried these on, now there's only one left on the floor.
Would you like it?
