>> Hi I'm Kent German, senior editor here at CNET.com. Today we're gonna take a first look at the Motorola Z6C. This is a new phone from Verizon Wireless service. This phone looks a lot like a Motorola Razr, has that same slider mechanism which we've liked before. Feels really solid, great movement, also like that thumb grip that's right here. Have a sixty five thousand color display, great for looking at graphics and games. The navigation array is standard as well, have a toggle here, couple of soft keys. They're pretty spacious, tactile, even though they're flush with the surface of the phone. The only thing that I'd like is I wish that the OK button in the middle of the toggle was just raised just a little bit. Sometimes you don't really know your finger's on it if you're dialing by feel. Keypad buttons are also nice, got some division between them using tiny raised ridges, so that helps when you're fast texting or fast dialing. If you have some visual impairments you might notice that the numbers and the keys can actually blend in with the silver background sometimes, especially when the phone's in direct light. So you might want to give it a test drive first just to make sure. Here on the side you have a volume rocker, the Moto smart key, and here on this side there's a voice dialing button, a button for locking the exterior controls which is nice. You can just flip that, flip it back and forth, and then here is a micro USB slot, which of course you use for the charger. You might notice that there's no headset jack on the phone. The phone does have stereo Bluetooth, so you might be using a Bluetooth headset most of the time. But if you want to use a wired headset, Moto does in the box give you a nice adapter for a two point five millimeter headset into this micro USB slot. Big thing about this phone though is it does work on CDMA [inaudible] some networks. So that means you can use Verizon CDMA network here in the United States, and in about twenty or so other countries that use CDMA. But that means when going abroad of course you get coverage in all those GSM countries that previously you didn't get with a Verizon phone. The SIM card fits behind the battery cover and behind the battery. The micro USB slot is behind the battery cover, while you don't have to move the battery, we'd really prefer that it was outside. But in any case, slip the SIM card in there. [inaudible] up to now you'll have to get it from Verizon, and you cannot use the GSM here in the United States because it does not, the phone does not support the bands that are used here in the U.S. or in Canada. So outside of North America though, you can use GSM elsewhere. So, it's a pretty nice setup overall, it does add that added functionality.
