Best Buy's inhouse brand insignia is trying to bring things full circle by mounting one of these to TiVo with up to date streaming services on a TV.
The insignia connected TV
is an LCD display, which features a TiVo interface and streaming from the launch of Netflix and CinemaNow.
Standup features include on board WiFi and a backlit RF capable learning remote.
The menus look friendly enough and we found straight forward for example to find and watch movies on the Netflix service.
Unfortunately, the TiVo influence is only a skin deep and well-known features such as thumbs up, thumbs down and even the well known guide are not available even though this buttons for them on the remote.
The TV is an arcade performance for the money and features decent black levels and plenty of detail.
Where if falls down though is in its unnatural color palette, which makes skin tones a little too red.
Backlight clouding is also an issue leading to uneven color uniformity.
The Insignia E859A11 is available now in 2 sizes, the $499 32-inch and a $699 42-inch.
