>> Bonnie: Hi this is Bonnie Cha, Senior Editor for CNET.com and today we're taking a first look at the HTC Touch Pro for Sprint.
Now this Smartphone was first introduced at CTIA Fall 2008 and I received a lot of reader email about the Touch Pro since then so I
know many of you are anxious to find out how it did. First it comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and to access the keyboard you
just slide the screen to the right. The keyboard buttons are large and I like there's a dedicated number row here on top but I found
the keys are a little stiff to press, still if you need to email a lot for work you're probably gonna want a full keyboard. And like
the Touch Diamond you also get this really gorgeous touch-screen and the touch-flow interface so you can interact and navigate through
applications with a touch of your finger. For example, you can scroll through pictures or emails with a swipe of your finger or move
around web pages just by dragging it around. There's also a built-in accelerometer so if you rotate the phone the screen will automatically
switch from portrait to landscape mode. Feature wise the Touch Pro has just about everything you would want for a business phone. Some
standard features include Push Email and the Microsoft Office Suite; there's even a Clear view presentation application and video-out
capability so you can connect to an external display and give a presentation or share some images and video. There's a full-range of
wireless options including Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, and EVDO RevA, and for multi-media there's a 3 point 2 Megapixel camera as well as
a built-in YouTube app, which was pretty good for watching video. There was support for Sprint TV but I found that it kind of stalled
the phone a lot and wasn't really happy with it. I also didn't like that there's no standard headphone jack and the phone's kind of
bulky. Still I think the pros out-way the cons and it's one of the most feature-packed and powerful Smartphones in Sprint's lineup,
so business users should be pretty happy with this device. The HTC Touch Pro's available now for $299.99 with a 2 year contract.
I'm Bonnie Cha and this has been your first look at the HTC Touch Pro for Sprint.
