>> Hi! I'm Molly Wood here with a First Look at the HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam edition. This is the first designer netbook. It was actually debut at the fashion week where it was referred to as the HP Mini Clutch because with its design you could actually potentially carry it as though it were a little purse. Now, it's based on the HP Mini 1000 netbook obviously, which we liked very much here at CNET, partly because it has a wonderful almost full-sized keyboard. The best keyboard of any netbook we've seen. The Vivienne Tam edition doesn't differ too much from the HP Mini 1000. It does have slightly upgraded specs over earlier models. It has the Intel Atom processor running at 1.6 gigahertz, a 60 gig hard drive and 1 gigabytes of RAM. That is comparable to the HP Mini Note 1000 high-end edition, but this version is about $200 more. You do have to pay for fashion. Well, the previous model retailed for about $549. This version as equipped cost $749. But it does come with a special Vivienne Tam laptop sleeve and of course this gorgeous puny design. Now over all this is a solid netbook. It's probably only a choice as a gift or for someone who is truly a fashion hound, but I have to say now that I have it in my hands it is much prettier than expected. For CNET.com I'm Molly Wood with the First Look at the HP Mini Note 1000 Vivienne Tam.
