Honeywell's security system wants to take over your smart home
We've seen a lot of cool stuff at CES 2018, but something that I'm really excited about is Honeywell's new home security system.
This is a really scalable system that starts with a camera based station.
This is a $400 camera, which I granted, is really, really expensive, but it has so much.
Integrated tag that could make your home a lot more secure.
So far starters, it has a 1080 HD live video feed.
It has integrated motion sensors, 145 degree diagonal field of view, free Cloud storage, night vision, and it also has a built in Alexa speakers.
So not only can you say, Alexa, tell me a joke.
But you can also Potentially in the future arm and disarm your security system with a simple voice command.
There's also the option to add in other scalable accessories like a key fob, motion sensor.
There are a couple of other battery powered cameras that you can add into the mix.
It's just a really scalable system that basically lets you choose how you want to Secure your home.
So you can do just the base station or you can add all of these different accessories.
But the thing I am most excited about is the upcoming facial recognition feature.
This is something we've seen a lot more with home security in the recent months and I expect it to be a continuing trend here at ZS.
