Galaxy S11 is apparently going to be big. Very big
Tech Industry
Welcome to the Alphabet City, I'm your guide Iyaz Akhtar and we are all together.
Let's dig in to the Galaxy S11.
It's apparently going to be massive.
Very reliable leaker Evan Blass tweeted what he said are preliminary Galaxy S11 details.
He says we'll see three screen sizes, 6.4", 6.7", and a huge 6.9" version.
The smaller two will come in 5G and LTE.
The ginormous one will come in 5G only but will fall back to LTE if 5G is not present.
If you liked the flat styling of the S10E He's got some bad news for you.
He says all variants of the S11 will have curved edge displays.
Last also says the launch date will be similar to the past with a mid to late February launch.
A subsequent tweet by blast says quote.
If I could edit this twice, I changed the smallest size to say either 6.2 or 6.4 inches as I have conflicting information about that one.
Let's compare those sizes to the existing S10 line, the S 10.
He has a 5.8 inch screen, the S 10, 6.1 S10 + 6.4 and the S 10 5G has a 6.7 inch screen So this S11 5G model willl have an even larger screen than the S10 5G ith the S11's 6.9 inch display.
The Galaxy folds tablet screen s 7.3 inches, but it's not exactly the phone aspect issue when it's open.
So, it seems like we're done the stretch of boundaries of pockets Everywhere with these larger phones, then again the note 10 Plus has a 6.8 inch screen and it's still pretty sleek.
Let's go digital reports that Samsung filed for trademark for something called Samoled.
This should not be the same thing as Super Amoled since that term has been around for a long time.
Maybe it could be a new display technology set for the S11.
Maybe these giant screens will have some new bells and whistles thanks to [UNKNOWN] Or maybe Samsung would call all of its tech Sam something from now on, like the Samsung Sam pen or Samsung Sam power share This is just terrible naming.
We've also got a tweet by ice universe who's become a remarkably solid source of Samsung information.
They say the Galaxy S 11 has a high probability of using a new 108 megapixel sensor, 108 megapixels.
XDA developers found hints of the 108 megapixel camera in Samsung's camera app.
They found code that adds 108 megapixel output resolution support you're saying is those must be typos.
How could the phone have 108 megapixel camera?
I'm glad we're having this conversation.
Check this out.
Xiaomi already introduced a phone with a 108 megapixel camera on its me note 10 Android authority tried out the amino 10 camera and got mixed results.
Now remember, a crazy camera does not always mean great pictures.
Google has done an outstanding job with its software to get great photos out of its cameras.
Samsung would likely do something similar.
Its cameras have been very very good in the past.
If it does go with the 108 megapixel camera Samsung will likely tweak that heck out of it with software for great pictures.
Let's talk batteries.
No, no, don't go away.
This is important.
Ice universe tweeted, the S11e battery may reach 4000 milliamp hours, they also say we can guess the S 11 plus will reach nearly 5000 milliamp hours which I think is prepared for high refresh rate screens and 5g, the S 10.
He has a 3100 milliamp hour battery, the 10 Plus has a 4100 milliamp hour battery, this would be a big upgrade Larger battery in the S11 makes lots of sense.
If you're using five G five G eats up battery life, if Samsung is going with a higher refresh rate for screens, that big battery is also more important.
Google's pixel four has a high refresh rate, but that mode is not always on.
Due to battery life concerns that and the pixel for comes with a tiny 2800 milliamp hour battery, the XL 3700 over on Weibo, a spec sheet for the Snapdragon 865 may have leaked hat tip to say mobile by the way.
This Qualcomm chip will likely end up in the S11.
It's supposed to have better graphics, better video coding and an integrated 5G modem.
The 855 does not have a 5G modem Qualcomm is holding it's snapdragon tech summit 2019 on December 3rd.
The 865 is expected to be introduced on that date.
Let's go way back to September of this year Evan blast tweeted that Samsung is said to be debating future galaxy branding, including eliminating the distinction between the **** and note lines could manifest in different ways, possibly with a galaxy one in lLieu of an S. 11.
He went on to clarify that what's under discussion is more than just a branding realignment, one possibility Simply fuse the S and Note into a single first half handset.
Now at this point, it's Samsung smartphone adventures.
Merging the S with a Note makes plenty of sense.
They share a lot of similar.
Everything.
What's stopping Samsung from putting an S pen in the S or just having S pen support.
Not a heck of a lot.
The S was like the mainstream phone.
The Note was like a pro phone.
These two were distinct.
The overlap has increased over the years.
Samsung's future is probably more like flat phones and foldble phones instead of having three high profile phones Go back to two, flat and fold.
On to Comment Cove, this is the part of the show we shine the spotlight at the most amazing audience in the world, you.
Last time we talked about Google picking up Fitbit.
Bonnie says, finally, we have a competitor to Apple's GOAT watches.
Ethan says, I would argue that the Fossil Gen 5 is a great Wear OS watch.
Thanks.
I'll give it another look.
NileshR12 says you could take a shot every time he says fit or Fitbit.
Now I say don't do that.
You may die.
And nature surfer says I couldn't care less for Fitbit.
My heart goes for the Fitbit users though.
Their data is owned by Google Now.
I use Garmin wearables and they are the top of the line.
They are the best.
I've looked into government devices a lot.
One of these days I'll pick up a non dumb watch again.
My last smartwatch purchase the fossil wrist PDA.
Yeah, that was around 15 years ago.
Anyway, I might as actor and I'll see you online.
