Ep. 33: 33: Is it better to tether?

Culture
I everyone welcome to CNET to the rescue -- -- needle in San Francisco this is our -- -- we try to solve your tech problems answer your tech questions. And -- deal poll that troubles of -- modern technology and joined. This week by special guest Brian Cooley all right thanks for coming in -- you. We have great questions from readers and listeners today which we'll get to in the second. If you would like to -- went into -- you can email to rescue at cnet.com. Or send us a voicemail 8774386688. Again 87743866. 88 no questions to basics that you got -- getting and your skin let us know what it is -- transcripts that it -- while. The -- offer. We lot of talk today about. Before we get into your questions we got really good -- want to talk about tethering yet. I AM I think I've said like nine times on the show that I have a sprint overdrive which the forgery G hockey puck -- were. You know four -- Wi-Fi occupy a repeater. Which I've had mixed experiences with -- let's talk a little bit more today about tethering about what the big deal about it is and whether it's really a good idea. The idea is obviously comfortable -- -- I think I mean when -- -- because your device doesn't have native. -- three G in the most common. Application so the concept here for those -- than that for those viewed with the levels that hearing what tethering is. It means to take a a device that. Brought it into it can be -- wireless or wired so you take your cellular data signal. And you make that signal available to other devices. Wi-Fi for watch by it or not. Or you can plug it in. So the idea is that you you take a device that has an Internet connection and you share that connection with other devices -- and and and in typical usage like you say it's taking a three G connection and converting it to Wi-Fi. Which is a much more common. Technology in most -- until today things are changing so much of a mix unfortunately it's called tethering even -- the most common use for government -- completely without -- -- yeah we'll have anybody -- result in a brief moment in history whenever tethering with -- USB cables guest rights to write but that's that's -- about it anymore you a few years -- -- tether your Smartphone within your laptop -- people the idea was exactly that that you would get a Smartphone that had a data signal a data plan. And that your your laptop which had nothing except. May be Wi-Fi or maybe maybe you would plug in your Smartphone to your laptop over USB cable. And you put put Iraq on line and I'll give -- the marking orders to bit rate ever now talking about a very good argument to -- to have gene networks -- that was the -- it was more. As the erratically interest -- -- really practical thing about it though is that the concept to me still makes the most sense because you always have your smart phone with you yeah. It's got a data plan so where are we mean can is the smart -- a good tethering. Main barrier Larry that's why I think before anybody had the -- G news we saw at CES is where -- start to break open just like the original tethering to the cable from your phone to your -- notebook was good idea except. On the network at the time it was a useless even for that -- web now we've got good wireless tethering but. Three G networks haven't kept up as much as the richness of the web. We -- to forgy as we are this year in the big cares if you're lucky to be in the right market wanna pay the additional data plan of how of the four G phone. I think four G finally we'll make tethering a really enjoyable experience as opposed to spend a little more. It's about survival technique until -- to -- is technically not clone. -- from -- from a data perspective reuse their perspective might be enjoyable but I don't know the financially it's gonna be so enjoyable the other issue as we talk about. Repeatedly how many times my gonna pay for the same date if I got the Smartphone would be whatever I'm paying -- -- data plan. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- They got on the same carrier into the development of -- care but I'm paying again. In a sense. For getting data over the air which -- probably only gonna use in a mono -- amusing one of the other at a time but I'm paying all the time for the same. Data layer that's frustrating to allow people with expensive yeah I mean you're talking here minimum 430. Thirty bucks a month or eight. That two gigabytes they think on Sprint's overdrive to a five I don't know August 5 as the bigger plan I mean smaller plans are running nothing man that's nothing go through that and one I mean we download if -- to -- to download a movie three G. Yet but it's that's report -- -- more interesting as well. Arts -- tethering will give you will give you all your Wi-Fi devices access to the real Internet the -- on Wi-Fi tablet. I mean and on Fortier nineteen or and I -- -- -- I do I've got allowed into overdrive that I got because I was foolish enough might now think to get -- on three G. And on WWI yen. IPad so I think it makes more sense to get your devices with built in. Three year -- the pros are more elegant it's all built into one play lets you carry less to carry more -- by no more -- on the on the upfront for the hardware and -- -- -- data plan no matter what you'd. With built -- or not. And you have and there is either good or bad thing to having a single battery state I don't like the fact that my overdrive has one battery life and my iPad has five X that -- going to be I'd rather have the three G radio on in the iPad -- the whole thing give it 20% battery life -- But at least and everything is in -- it'll diet once well what you can do and this is actually I recommend this is if you have. One of the pox and the MiFi in the rhetorical the of those popular -- parties. You can plug them into your laptop and -- power the USB. That's true that -- that yeah you're running two devices -- offer two batteries but that'll kernel level that power utilization that's true I haven't yet amusing and human. IPad I do this which of course of the connectivity to be a power reach new source. But I'll tell -- a year they -- in the airport trying to find a way to plug your over driving to the battery life abysmal. And the wall plug in wherever will be 2530 feet away you know the one -- spot in the airport lockdown of course but -- -- my iPad with the old ninety days of battery life. But because the overdrive and I'm nervous using dominant you know would it kill this thing really quick and it seems to be very data bandwidth and the battery life as well it's like it's it's really being ground it seems to dialogue back and I'd imagine that -- -- if you if you use your Smartphone as at the -- yeah like I -- then you're gonna -- that. Realize that and then without your voice device which is a big sacrifice and -- -- -- yes yes so there's no good solution right now except that. It's -- how much of an issue for a lot of folks because so many phones lockout tethering or to pay the additional -- a month my Droid two has tethering enabled -- activists set up something on Verizon. Paying enough already on the overdrive and the basic plan for the phone and data for the phone and -- another -- to tether of the people. All that being said my advice if you have a number of connected devices than a laptop and a tablet for example instead of paying. Getting the signal into the device. I believe you get a lot more flexibility by getting a you dedicated -- U -- I absolutely do you just after graduating Otellini on the paper once. Yep that's the thing because anything -- Friday comes out then you can just scrap that an -- with an iPad with an obsolete radio -- -- The only yet if you do get three G and every device it's a pricey elegance -- Atlantis what do you recommend July I had -- in the same thing but I just would go with The Who put him for kids and my quite as. The -- the overdrive is bulky we don't have four -- lit up. I can never get much of in fourteen markets are still never gives four G and -- somebody says I've gotta go sign up for additional data plan at the CNET device auto they've got on and sometimes it doesn't -- it's really messy but I you know the of the MiFi has always been companies your device to use -- -- -- -- off someone else. So yeah I think a Verizon MiFi has a better way to go. And right now it's the flexible way to go until we work out some kind of universal data plan architecture in the business which of these. I think what we need to do the clear answer here is to put -- -- -- in the soles of our shoes like you know in the dim light -- so instead of to recycle water that are doing exact battery charging and then use your phones as is. What we get back to very seriously with cars and devices of any kind battery technology is way more important than we often give -- credit for cycle time has to be improved after charged slow ordering. -- is the as the incredible. A holy Grail of so many industries right now is to they just cycle time innovate into the cycle time -- -- battery that will change lives because you'll have all kinds of issues with -- range on cars with it -- working society on portables just go away. And what I've read says battery innovations have been very gradual curve rewards plotting a gradual yet -- but -- -- there but I mean. Not to get off the -- to part here. Look at the battery life you get on name MacBook Air or iPad and its its its great yet but it's mostly battery yes this is basically this is basically a battery that allow little CPU and a and a solid state drive to come room with -- This is basically a battery product let's get to some questions from you our listeners. This is from. Paul -- mini who says. My favorite piece of tech is an iPod classic the fact that I can bring my library. Up 151000 songs in my car -- -- we're still astounds me what concerns me is that. As add more CDs and digital files like in the day in the not too distant future when I run out of drive space I would love to get an iPod Touch but with the MacBook -- these 64 gigabytes of compounds the capacity issue. Is there any aftermarket way I can increase the capacity of an iPod Touch or similar device. Such as wiring an external drive into the device I don't mind -- the makes the bulk here. Upload -- it he's willing to do it -- That's what you -- if you do that. You most of -- -- drive -- -- such a thing -- off if you do that Steve Jobs will personally come your house and machete that. That wore off the back your machine and give -- a bad -- yet with a -- to two our Q know you know I'm sorry Paul welcome to Apple no you cannot you know -- -- non expendable devices -- -- and there's -- -- -- can -- -- what you can't do -- -- what you're talking -- about -- access your media library and -- -- audience in places -- -- have. Access to the Internet. -- -- through -- -- You can use something like rhapsody or RD oh or one of those. Come. It's music streaming services we can put your whole library -- on the cloud and then play everything you have everywhere and if you don't distort any device for things that are bureau like home movies. -- or recorded concerts and stuff like that that's where the cloud you know literally rocks now or in the car no idea now. Practically. Get a hot spot your car but it's -- now if you that needs fourteen if you don't. Really need to stick with Apple -- When you do well I mean I was. Does this immediately -- -- about my phone and think okay you got expanded -- Leo like you're gonna Droid two week of the micro SD slot. He keep the 32 gig on that but that's what you're very far -- that's still way below what he's trying to do on -- existing classic which I guess he has a 11 year 160 in capacity classics like an approach that with a micro SD on a Smartphone. I would like you unified devices button and in theory they just would make a bigger micro SD card which might be manufacturing -- the history. -- small piece of but evidently the pop the cards in and now you just swap on the you know -- -- to lose those things that's true the minute you -- its -- pop as spring loaded which is diabolical let's. And 260 gigabytes on a classic I think that's that the Macs asking get right now within -- hard drive -- -- on -- -- and of course that's not Wi-Fi enabled device now nonetheless 150 gates is a lot that is most people's that is nine -- 9% of the -- music library. I'm just checking on one thing here to see if anyone is doing a let me -- iPod video iPod photo iPod -- yeah I don't see the current classic in here -- their fourth generate no fourth generation. Yeah I don't seem to -- which when you've got a few of the iPod video after calling that a classic which is arguably a class with real there are some hard drive upgrades from opera outside firms -- But I don't think it goes into the latest generation talked about I'm looking at. Rapid repair is a big one. 3081202240. They have a 240 a -- the tune of thirty dollars -- there you go. -- iPod video it may not because -- and as recently as his model of iPod. So get an older iPod video get a -- reported -- -- to forty gig drive and I just get another iPod. Might look like swapping out via micro SD cards you don't -- just do that does make sure the take your happy -- iPod with you instead of just add to its iPod with -- and -- must make freedoms separate network and on and even finding -- ninety of their bunch iPod yet. Fifth what was the iPod video within a fifth gen I think I lose track of -- -- but the -- some new old stock ones on -- -- And then send that in for a pricey 230 dollar drive upgrade not cost effective but he doesn't care about elegance if you want to put -- back. And -- I -- he cares about function I just wish Apple let you do expanded their device but they're not stupid. Right Peter park Baumgarten writes that -- I'm aware that very soon. The Internet will run out of IPV four addresses and that soon everyone will be highly encouraged to move to I PV six -- two as a is that -- I think it serves go to nine millimeter behind your head. New Jersey responsible for this problem to -- you'll be -- he's a guy who invented this he's now working at Google -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- goes -- I've been hearing about the coming crisis for some time and decided to -- -- my family for Christmas I decided to -- -- a new router. Which -- an upgrade the router was on sale for less than a hundred bucks it was cheaper than -- suggestion from last week of building my own I'm not now hearing some disturbing information that almost all consumer routers do not support IB EE six. And I was wondering if I can check to make sure that it'll work. So -- it's a little upgrade little. Update here -- -- what's going on I. PV four is the at addressing system that the Internet -- every site on the Internet has an address which is bunch of numbers separated by dots. Which tells you the physical actress of the device. Most of the time via there are only. Because it's a 32 bit addressing system -- only four point three billion addresses and -- -- devices on the Internet. And we will run out this year our -- terrorism we idea. After. Know what will leave credit allocated for -- what at what they're indeed they get the blame big blocks and that humans split up. And we were actually spoke to run out awhile -- -- people that have Nat network address translation so that you know if you have six devices at home and one cable modem a cable modem has one address and -- -- -- inside minerals that are distributed around the house -- -- that for now. Eventually will go to I PV six we will have -- 128 bit addressing system which will give us. 340. Trillion trillion trillion possible -- that really how many which should be enough. Yeah I did -- steal from people don't know basically every grain of sand in the universe right fit for Christensen of the beach -- and IP address we can put the model now in addition to having the ability for every device we can possibly imagine having its own IP address. Set up will be easier because won't have to deal -- And device to device set up communication will be easier because basically -- -- these translation tables. Doing these workarounds. This signal an end. To us today you get and I like -- -- get an IP address from your cable modem via and it goes into one ready to about 160 got one about one -- not -- auto or via rode -- one -- consumer router will place a limit to the one -- The state that when one got one it was like an honest about home that's -- already or oral or. Right is that going away it was an Internet. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- This is where we get into the problem that -- that Peter is talking about here is that there is no easy way. To switch from I PV four to I PV six it is like as shank land and Peter the Franklin explain that -- did the other day. Changing the gauge of railway system you can go on narrow gage are -- going wide -- but you can't really have both -- -- -- one train won't -- from the same time. -- to make the upgrade you go buy a V6 compatible router and it's kinda like 80211 and it's it's a little early days right now. I would need to worry about at this point right because because this is good -- thirtieth software great and the first. But isn't the first. People in the infrastructure that would have to deal with. Are your IP backbone you'll -- from yet they had and then they'll have to trickle out figure how to upgrade everybody get a lot of the problem with like FaceBook and Google -- -- doing this internal. Yet this would affect me at home and yet until my providers says we need to issue you a dynamic V6 address to your cable modem right and then my router needs to understand that so until that happens. The consumer typically doesn't view the average consumer of the whereabouts when you're if you're -- hundred dollar router I wouldn't worry about it -- -- at some point though. It's gonna be a problem yeah so -- and canned food. At the front because -- 12010 bit or 2001. -- this of this that I have not seen any anywhere out there a solution that does not. Have sense that this is going to be a comfortable it'll be a firmware upgrade and that's what brought the pot to poke through today and that -- like -- -- -- small percentage of routers will get brick in the process and up yet but in Wi-Fi it was the same way a long. -- And a messy roll out out. Two year duration almost from the very earliest to the ones are -- and routers are backward compatible that -- -- -- my routers are obviously backward compatible before right. After you you you can't have packets than both the same time. I don't know why they didn't forget way to make it work -- before devices like might be forward -- sunlight -- see your mind before. In my laptop or my iPad those -- still work my new V6 router. Has to be compatible and respect one would think one of them nonetheless -- nobody is the biggest nonetheless nobody out there saying okay just get them you know and a router that's compatible -- six and it'll work well during the -- nobody -- an -- things like we don't have to do well luckily it's not gonna happen. This year -- most consumers but -- -- few years ahead. But -- -- seamlessly trickled. Yeah it's -- and of still wrote to us and said. I have a drop box account this is very interest in question -- sync with a capital a private drop box account. And -- home PC and a laptop and they work BC all think up an analog. Then say what -- if I lose my laptop or change jobs and I want my drop box folder to be emptied out the next time the PC is turned on can it be done. Makes perfect sense you got all this computer sync up. This computer you know computer -- gets stolen you -- -- white like on a Smartphone and and you want it to like the old way yet. The little bi directional Wi syncing everything that is in the drop box folder get it pushed out to all -- devices all the -- president's -- same thing with another shirt. Now here's the thing there is no simple way to do this. On drop box and there are two solutions the easy ways that after you decide. That your computer which is lying on your desk at the targets that fire from you no longer want to have access to all your personal files or get stolen. You going to drop -- a you don't your computers and you take all that data that you wanna keep and you back it up somewhere. And then. You delete the data in your drop box folder over the way right wipe it out. Then the next time that your computer comes on line. It will sink of all like it'll it'll erase everything accessible in the capital plea that the -- -- don't know about that right which will go away eventually venue disable the drop box account. Then you -- the new drop box capital back yet but that's really wished there is the simpler there is -- and much more elegant way. Which -- -- set up ahead of time which will take you have. Use the new selective sync feature in the I think the beta of the next version of drop box and that'll let you set up some folders that don't get saint. And -- then you've got -- there are those out from the device you might lose as then as soon as something as you leave you move your data from one folder to once the folder to another and it'll do you want instructions are in a drop -- formal -- -- -- in the show -- which you are somewhat limiting your -- The power of your sink right -- syncing everything to every device and that no not heeded this what what you do easy setup kind of it an emergency folder via has with somebody here called the them evacuation of gotta write that. Or emergency and then as soon as you lose a computer you -- in drop box movie files went with the the other. And the one computer that you don't wanna have access to you never have -- -- Ultimately an okay got it got so it's everything -- -- it works replica. Our here's one its interest in this -- of this comes in from. We number Olsen writes him. He says first of all my of because can help in my home as a structured wiring set of the news got lots alarms put -- -- -- -- was built in and I have DirecTV and I just wanna use one satellite box but. Feed ATV. These TVs are located in spare bedrooms game agency eighty piggyback on a right he's got the television. Wow we -- also what -- -- him some TV all right. And -- to -- in locations that are infrequently used but he now says that he does have a infra red channel. Changing system didn't -- which -- -- -- we get -- back -- to use an infrared remote in the room and send a signal back down I guess I are over coax is my -- here. He doesn't want to split the DirecTV signal coming off the dish and then put a box in every room with too much money right because these are infrequently used sets he wants kind of -- in a crude way of doing it isn't you can do not to distribute his -- one video signal -- -- TVs and selectively of this one I mean it's the same signal. Vienna Reuters -- to -- he's -- what the same channel on all eight with my meant that he can't have different children being different TVs that is gonna beat you do -- That's what they don't like this idea he says his runs in a more than fifty feet no problems -- that you do you can go to. -- RF modulator this is what takes the output of your satellite TV box which I'm sure comes out on either an RCA composite what have you. And -- to channel for your channel four. You know we've seen these things for a hundred years but get a good one at those -- one used to come with video game console -- -- -- -- 13840. Bucks and if we take this image here we've got video. On my machine this is 01 the this is -- example of what -- 125 dollars mechanical blunder -- weird name Goodyear. And this is broadcast quality stuff that's why cost more than the ten dollars you'd pay buying a really cheap -- modulator you know target or something would go get one of these it'll turn one input into one. Channel of any. Channel you want not just three or -- anything from two to 1351. Of the things you get with a a pro quality -- the -- -- much later and then that will go out and needs to feed to you're ATVs it'll feed immediately into this piece. Which is a very simple passive -- way -- -- One goes in and -- come out. And then you just home run all of these -- out to -- eight TVs -- now. They have to be watching the same channel the same time when they're on satellite TV you -- it's a different signals secondly it's standard -- there's no way to do this for high -- that's cost effective you can do but spend thousands of dollars much leading into -- SE. Hi Def is much harder than the old standard Def RS. And is also some rights issues when they don't want to happen so that's -- easy crude went -- to get something to watch off your satellite. It's gotta be the same thing in every room relatively standard -- but does not gonna cost too much under 200 -- -- -- -- -- -- -- you replace -- TVs with computers and watch Internet content where you could do what. You just slap a roku and every one for -- more money but not much more -- really and have the ability to watch anything you want on every TV. Let me skipping ahead to another -- question -- -- kind of -- judge David pierce says I just bought a new large screen plasma TV. The picture quality is excellent but I can't hear dialogue very well on the movies that play on -- Blu-ray player I've tried every cent combination imaginable with no effect. I bought a new sound -- that increases the sound level it does nothing to enhance the clarity of that -- please help. This is an interesting issue to senators and -- yes what I think to. I'd I'd put my money on the fact that he's gonna miss configuration somewhere and that he's sending a five channel audio that the signal into a four channel setup and the center channels and drop what -- you yes that's. I don't know what he has a the C go to an AV receiver involved here where we don't -- -- receiver he's got but the audio output. Settings on the receivers can be very complicated. You wanna make sure you've got the routing of center channel coming out of the receiver going to your sound bar I don't know if you're using analog or for using an optical connection. That can get screwed up as well between that the -- the talking between those two that the digital handshake but that's happening absolutely senator over all the dialogue is and by about one present. I had exactly this problem my PC my desktop PC when play -- games and -- gratified that one speaker system around it. But I -- hear any of the dialog on any issue that the issue was written with the center channel speaker was -- and not just the wireless lips yeah yeah that's that's that's and everything else that music with glorious -- everything was perfect he's got a settlement are so -- there's no way to disconnect the senator came on -- and so he's definitely got something on the. Other and the output side of his receiver I suspect there's one. There's one cable the wrong place that's why I suspect he's using analog RCA cables but otherwise you couldn't get one wrong. Optical has everything in one place. -- but using HDMI for the same reason and -- -- is if you are using HDMI or optical which bundles all the audio together to your sound bar you've got to -- setting in your receiver or broken in your receiver or -- -- Try changing the audio up -- four -- -- happens. I think this area of birth and other operators to channel into I don't know if the information is getting to the sound bar and everything is working technically within it that you know if you actually not getting the audio out of your Blu-ray player you you know that -- doing here only a few things -- -- come back it up to four and then five dot wanna see what happens I think we have time for one or two more -- -- -- cellphone ads that. Then you're left when your cell -- had severe human. Yet you know what let's OK with that -- Curve says my new question is this can -- by itself on -- that. Was a little Bluetooth ones that and use it with my laptop for Skype will any old cellphone Bluetooth headset -- with -- -- Bluetooth adapter and just work. Actually should -- yes -- I've done this it although Bluetooth set up on that PC at least is never these -- the post the me now on a Mac it's a little bit better. Although if you're talking that Skype I'm gonna do little bit -- -- here. One of the most annoying. I believe programming flaws in Skype on the Mac is getting to use output. In. -- audio and output and input from anything other than the built in yeah Mike and that's speakers it is just a pain in the neck and never works the way it's supposed to according to settings. And -- from editorializing even further the fact that Skype on the iPhone can't use Bluetooth is a catastrophe yet doesn't work. Skype on the iPhone -- Bluetooth now. Have you -- had -- -- I know. -- -- -- -- -- What they stop being cantankerous and nothing to check out here when you're going to buy a headset to use in this is to make sure everything in the laptop and the headset. Are the -- -- -- the laptop make sure it's got Bluetooth headset profiles supported not just hands free profile -- the car thing headset profile is that there are many profiles and Bluetooth -- lots of layers of technical specs of handshaking. And I think you need to have headset profile to make this work I don't know that's on common. But that's something that look out for is make sure your laptop has -- profile in its Blu-ray chip or -- at the -- -- to go update the driver for your Bluetooth. -- integrated Bluetooth a -- want to really experienced tech support hell. He tried to get the Bluetooth. Headset working on windows XP machine. Oh yeah just trial -- announcement that that -- thing they didn't foresee now own the real world not cut copy. The planet -- -- that was awful anyway. One more we do homeowner wanna -- -- more mark from when vague. -- art market and expect Allen. My son plays a lot is the poor guy that thing down next wilderness. Just were doing it going in order -- bias on says my son plays a lot of games including. World warcraft three. I see him -- the world worker -- I see him logging a lot of time to an online service called arena. I'm not -- littered about all the terminology with the problem is whenever he's playing online are other computers on the home network can't access the Internet. Is there a way to limit the bandwidth he is apparently hogging. Well before we answer that particular question -- clear here World of Warcraft. While it is uses the Internet a lot. Back and -- the amount of bandwidth that. It requires is actually very low. It's sending instructions -- the aerial -- -- needing updates and going to new -- world and downloading background and -- -- like an average imagery isn't moving over the Internet right it's just where the images are yet characters are -- vector graphics. And -- is a messaging system for gamers. So it's lightly here I hate to say that your son is doing in the even more than playing -- there is media being downloaded yes now it is possible to limit panel that your home's router it. How to do that there is completely there's a standard -- period and which router you have. You can also set -- filtering management -- replacing your. Your -- -- domain name system that comes from the at the right. But. This won't work because if you're not too technically adept your fighting a very well informed proceed to a statement. We had yet and is gonna on limit that router I'm wondering media going through I don't agreement arena by going through that. Is there something untoward going on he doesn't even know that's being backdoor into their system. I have an idea I think. I think he's playing -- game. And he's cutting everybody else off because they don't -- he doesn't want everybody in half lagging and I actually think he's I think that router he's cutting everybody -- that makes -- look at what he says is that no one can act as yet not -- slow but no there's nothing at all that was fabulous -- analysts. If you'd be able to get -- -- -- gets a little little yeah so I even tried to switching off and -- and a half but I think yeah you want the lord responds -- The real answer here is not a technical -- it's it's a parental one it's like you know an engine can help. Put the computer in the family room and neutrinos with a program that would throw the -- -- network right. And tell him to stop doing naked podcast rule with an iron is a lot of bandwidth. Next week on. Parenting to the rescue you know -- -- Brian thank you for joining the my pleasure thank -- on -- always good to have you been -- thanks for producing next week we're gonna have a great show we're gonna be talking to be taking your Mac questions. And no it won't be just me because that would be a disaster -- -- for Kessler who is the author of our blog Mac fix it. -- be here send your Mac questions to -- at a time rescued cnet.com or phone -- mean. Foods. That number 87743866888. From from -- create sophisticated. Thanks again Brian my -- fact making us. The on and -- all.
