Disney Plus streaming app is fun and full of rich content
Disney plus, Mickey Mouse's favorite streaming service is now available.
It brings thousands of hours of TV shows and movies, from Iron Man to the Simpsons to Star Wars, all for $7 a month or $9 if you're in Australia.
But the question on everybody's lips is, what's it actually like.
The service launched in the US on the November 12th, followed by Australia on November 19th, but the UK will need to wait until March of 2020.
While there were some initial hiccups on launch day in the US, it has appeared to be fairly stable since.
The service is available on a host of different platforms, including Roku, Fire Stick, Apple TV, iOS, and Android.
In addition to smart TVs from LG and Samsung.
If you own a video TV, the service doesn't have an app or Chromecast support until 2020.
You can use Apple Airplay, but at the moment it's a bit awkward.
You'll need to start Airplay in another app and then switch back to Disney Plus.
Now, first things first, this is Disney Plus' main screen.
And so far, so Netflix.
The top of the screen features a large carousel with featured programs.
Below that are the hero properties, Disney, Pixar, Marvel Star Wars and National Geographic.
Each of these icons animates when you navigate to it.
When you click on it a short intro animation occurs.
And this can be confusing the first time you notice you think you've started a movie or something.
Below, these are the titles organized by category.
And this will evolve to your tastes as you use the service more By the time.
Adding to your watch list is easy.
Each program page has a watch list button which you can simply click.

If you have a 4k HDR TV, there is a selection of Dolby Vision and HDR10 content, in addition to Dolby Atmos audio.
But not all recent movies include high tech video The Muppets is only in HD for example.
Overall the system is easy to use and offers a lot of content from day 1.
If you wanna try the app yourself it is free for the first month.
Is Disney Plus a must-have?
If you're a fun of Star Wars or Marvel then I'd say yes, and even though as I speak only one episode of the Mandalorian has come out, it's enough to sign up for a month and try it up.
But it's the rich back catalogue of Disney movies and TV shows that should have people coming back for more.
