-I'm Nicole Lee, Senior Associate Editor for CNET.com, and this is a first look at the Casio G'zOne Ravine for Verizon Wireless.
Like all other Casio G'zOne phones, this Ravine is military certified to withstand the elements.
That means it's water resistant, shock resistant, vibration resistant, and more.
On the front of the phone is a round external display.
So, you can see it displays the usual date and time information.
Open up the
phone and you get a very nice 2-inch display here, very nice and colorful.
Even though it's only 65,000 colors, we still thought it was quite crisp.
Underneath that you do get the usual navigation toggle.
You also get the usual number keypad down here.
The keys, as you can see, are nice and jagged and raised above the surface.
On the back is a 3.2 megapixel camera lens.
You also get an LED flash that acts as a flashlight as well.
Features of the phone include push-to-talk services.
You also get GPS on here as well
as EV-DO rev.A.
Other features include stereo Bluetooth as well as access to Verizon's services like V CAST Video and V CAST Music.
You also get e-mail on here, which includes access to corporate e-mail as well.
The Casio G'zOne Ravine also comes with a suite of outdoor-specific applications.
The tools include a compass, a pedometer, a tidal graph, even an astro calendar that tracks the lunar cycle.
The Casio G'zOne Ravine is around $150 with a new 2-year service agreement.
