>> Hi, I'm Will Greenwald assistant editor at CNET.com and this is our look at the Canon Power Shot TX1. This is a digital camera slash camcorder that can shoot both seven mega pixel still images and high definition footage. Unfortunately it doesn't really do either very well because of it's unusual design. As you can see this is a very blocky camera and is in no way built for any ergonomic sensibility. You can't readily fit your fingers anywhere, especially if you have a large hand while you're shooting video with this camera and when you're shooting stills it's even worse. The shutter release is positioned in this awkward location on the top of the camera. So if you want to shoot you need to hold the camera like this or even more awkward, if you want it to be sort of a vertical shot, you need to hold it like this. It has a 10X zoom lens, it can reach up to ISO 1600 sensitivity and both the high def footage and seven mega pixel stills it takes look pretty good. Unfortunately because it's such a pain getting the stills and that video because of it's design, it's really hard to recommend this camera. Rather than fiddling with a blocky unusual design like this that's probably going to cramp up your wrists after a few days of use, if not a few hours use, you're probably better off with getting a dedicated digital camera or a camcorder.
