The popularity of instant pot electric pressure cookers is unmistakable.
Many other companies are now trying to cash in on the craze too with products of their own.
One of them is the 100 dollar Black and Decker.
Six quart pressure cooker.
This kitchen counter multi cooker delivers many of the same abilities Instant Pot appliances provide.
For instance, it cooks under pressure to speed up cook times, tough cuts of meat like ribs, brisket, or pork shoulder are done in an hour or two, instead of eight or twelve.
You also get a bunch of preset cooking modes for things like rice, stews and soups And beans.
This cooker functions as a traditional slow cooker and a steamer too.
It also has a browning function to seer and saute items.
Still there are features Black and Decker's pressure cooker can't do.
That a similarly priced instant pot can.
It doesn't have special modes for making yogurt, porridge, or eggs.
You can't adjust the pressure level either.
Many instant pots have both a low and a high pressure setting, Black and Decker's doesn't.
So at the end of the day this pressure cooker from Black and Decker is fine.
But unless you can get it for less, you're better off with an Instapot for the same price.
