>> Rich: Hi I'm Rich Brown, Senior Editor for CNET.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the AVA Direct Custom Gaming PC. Now this is
an Editor's Choice winning gaming system and we like it because AVA Direct did some really impressive things with over-clocking getting
the most performance out of this system. Now this is a tiny little package it's not that big compared to some other high-end gaming
systems we've seen. Up front here you've got the standard ports we've got 2 USB and ESATA input as well as a couple of headphone
and mic jacks. Behind the front panel door here you can see there's a Blu-Ray player, DVD burner as well as a standard media card reader.
Around here in the back you get pretty much all the ports we like to see in a modern PC. You've got plenty of USB inputs, another ESATA
input, Firewire, digital Analog audio as well as DVI down here and the graphics card as well as an HDMI output. You can pretty much
connect this thing to anything you want. It doesn't have WiFi which, you know, we don't really expect in a gaming system like this
one. So inside the case you can see AVA Direct did a very good job wiring and making sure that airflow is nice and clean. It's about
as good as any other custom gaming vendor we've seen. We're also impressed by the fact that this is one of the most over-clocked
systems we've ever seen. It comes with an Intel Core I7920 Chip, normally that chips at about 2 point 66 gigahertz. AVA Direct
over-clocked it to 3 point 88 it's a gain of about 50% and it absolutely killed our benchmarks. We were a little bit nervous about
that aggressive over-clocking though so we ran a few extra stability tests. The system ran over-night with every CPU core running at
100% and no crashes, no errors and the CPU stayed nice and cool throughout the whole test, so we're pretty confident that AVA Direct
knows what it's doing as far as over-clocking. Now over-clocking kind of varies not every chip not even among certain models are
identical so you won't necessarily see 3 point 88 from every Core I7920 out there including from AVA Direct, but we still do expect
you should be able to get nice high over-clocking when you order it, it's $100 option. The price is about $3,000 so, you know, it's
a relatively high-end mainstream gaming config. You've got 2 hard drives here one is a 1 point 5 terabyte 7200 drive. The other
one is a 300 gig 1,500 RPM drive from Fujitsu, very fast rotational speed. It's not quite a solid state drive but it's still one of
the first we've seen at the 15K rotational speed. Here we have a dual chip graphics card the GForce GTX295; this is also over-clocked
to give you a little more gaming performance for your dollar. And down here you have a 1,200 watt power supply as well as 2 extra
graphics card inputs on the mother board. That means you can make this either a dual or triple card gaming system and the mother
board supports both Crossfire and SLI so you have pretty much have your choice of video cards. So this thing right here is actually
a part of the liquid cooling hardware. If the system was on the display here would show the system fan speed as well as the CPU
temperature, so that's a nice little feature. So if you go to AVA Direct's website and you try to build a custom gaming PC like this
one you might find yourself a little bit intimidated if you're not tech savvy. They have all kinds of options for different cases,
different mother boards. That said, AVA Direct's prices are great, it knows how to build a very fast well-built system and we
have no problem recommending this one. That's why it's an Editor's Choice. So I'm Rich Brown this is the AVA Direct Custom Gaming
