AutoComplete: Porsche is bringing back the flat-six to Boxster, Cayman
Welcome to road shows auto complete your weekly roundup of the biggest news in the automotive world.
This week we have news on Toyotas big new recall that plays last Mazon and those that air but first let's start with Porsches, 718 GTS and their new flat six engine.
Porsche made the controversial decision to digits traditional naturally aspirated, flat six and its [UNKNOWN] came in models a few years ago.
And enthusiasts have been complaining about it ever since.
The complaints generally have little to do with how the cars actually drive, they are still superb by the way.
But more to do with how they sound aka, neat so good.
Porsche heard the criticism though and now it's announced the return of the Flat-Six [INAUDIBLE] turbos In the GTS model 718 bucks or in Cayman.
Now Theseus will be even more hard pressed to not buy the already Goldilocks like GTS when it hits showroom floors.
You guys, the lucid air is finally getting a debut in its production trim.
It's been a long time coming, I think at least four years now.
But the company has announced its plan to reveal the car in April in New York City.
We can only assume that this will coincide with the New York Auto Show in some way, but that hasn't been explicitly confirmed.
In case you forgot The Lucid Air is a 1,000 horsepower 400 mile luxury EV sedan.
That's Seeks to well and truly take on the best from the Big D. Can it do it?
Who knows but a billion dollar investment from the Saudi public investment fund will certainly help improve the odds.
The 2020 Genesis G 90 is a big polarizing sedan.
Some people hate the grill or the wheels, but the one thing that's really hard to eight is its value proposition.
See you only get three choices when you go to spec a 2020 G 90, the drive train and the interior and exterior colors.
There are no options because everything is standard.
And just how much does all this luxury and technology cost?
Try just over 78 grand for the top tier VA model with all wheel drive.
It's a hell of a thing for a car that like it or love it, has some pretty bold styling.
Something that's becoming more of a rarity with every passing model here.
Toyota and Lexus issued a massive recall for some 696,000 of their vehicles and surprise It has nothing to do with airbags.
See for this one Toyota found that some of the fuel pumps installed in 2018 and 2019 model SUVs, minivans, sedans and trucks will just quit working with not that much warning.
The company is still working on a fix for the problem.
But in the meantime, if your Twitter Alexa starts running rough Four cuts out and then the dash lights up like a Christmas tree.
You may be affected by this recall.
Owners of effective vehicles can expect a note from Toyota in their mailbox sometime in March.
Porsches icon Turbo S is in many ways the first true competitor to Tesla's mighty Model S. It's wildly quick, features super competent handling, and build quality that should make Elon weep.
Unfortunately the EPA just released its range estimates for the Turbo S and the numbers definitely don't look So good.
The Triple S manager is a paltry 192 miles per charge while the Tesla Model S on 21 inch wheels gets around 325 miles.
Will this be a huge deal for most owners?
Probably not.
But will it be a deal breaker for some high end EV shoppers Absolutely, Bentley's Mulsanne has been the company's flagship model since its debut in 2010 and now it's getting ready to go the way the Dodo bird but it's not going out quietly.
The big luxury sedan and it's 6.75 litre V8 this turned the company's 61 years old L-series inert architecture is getting a very limited runner farewell models, fairly called the Bentley Mulsanne 6.5 Edition by Mulliner.
Crew is going to turn out 30 of these bad boys and they feature special badging, special engine aesthetic changes, different trim and engineering drawing inspired faces on the gauge and clocks.
If you're Mulsanne fan, get it while they're getting.
Good, everyone else, wait for the flying spurt.
