Apple, Samsung, LG respond to WikiLeaks dump
Apple, Samsung, and LG have all responded to the wikileaks vault 7 data dump.
Wikileaks released thousands of documents.
It claims to show secret CIA hacking tools for commonly used devices like smart phones, connected tv's, and more.
While [UNKNOWN] is unable as of yet to verify whether the documents are real or have been Altered, some of the big tech's companies have responded.
Apple released a statement saying quote, While our initial analysis indicates that many of the issues leaked today were already patched in the latest IOS, we will continue work to rapidly address any identified vulnerabilities.
We always urge customers to download the latest iOS to make sure they have the most recent security updates." LG reiterated its digital privacy efforts.
Stating "We are completely committed to working with other industry players to make sure that consumers are protected to the fullest extent that today's technology will allow." Samsung also commented, saying quote, protecting consumers' privacy and the security of our devices is a top priority at Samsung.
We are aware of the report in question and are urgently looking into the matter, unquote.
When asked for comment, a Microsoft spokesman said the company was aware of the report and was looking into it.
Google and Motorola declined to comment as of midday March 8th.
Regardless of the veracity of the documents, it may cause an even more strained relationship between law enforcement, tech companies and us, as end users who rely on secure devices every day.
