Honda first showed it's CRV Hybrid to the world in Shanghai in 2017.
Now we all kinda thought it would show up in the US pretty quickly after that, but Honda stayed quiet on the topic.
Now finally, two years later, it's here.
And it's brought some other updates along for the ride.
The 2020 Honda CR-v hybrid is a major update to the automakers bread and butter crossover.
Under the hood is a two liter Atkinson cycle four cylinder which makes 202 motor hybrid system to produce a net 212 horsepower.
And for the first time in Honda's hybrid lineup history, there are four driven wheels on this thing all wheel drive a standard on the hybrid, not options.
Optional.
Pretty good stuff.
And while we don't have EPA numbers yet, Honda estimates that the CRB Hybrid will be some 50% more efficient than the regular Gas sipping versions.
Now, it's pretty easy to tell the 2020 Honda CRB Hybrid apart from the rest of the pack.
The Hybrid version gets a few unique special touches, like these bar type LED Fog lights up front And a whole host of badges is all over the darn thing.
But then again, there are updates to all 2020 CRV's that apply to both hybrid and non hybrid such as new front and rear bumpers, new redesigned tail lights and a whole bunch of new wheel designs.
Inside all 2020 CRV's they redesigned center console to make it easier to hide all your junk.
Touring trims get a wireless device charger as well, but otherwise it's largely business as usual inside.
Available tech includes A7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, with both Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
The hybrid further differentiates itself inside, by way of special trim, in addition to a push button gear selector, with multiple vehicle mode buttons nearby.
The other major update for 2020 is the addition of Honda Sensing on the base LX trim.
Honda Sensing is the auto maker's suite of active and passive safety systems which include some pretty great hits like adaptive cruise control, automatic early braking, and lane keep assist.
One spot monitoring is available on higher trims for a little extra piece of mind too.
Now the regular old 2020 CRV, with its 1.5 liter turbocharged gas engine goes on sale this fall.
If you're waiting for the hybrid version though, you will have to exercise a little bit of patience because it doesn't come to dealerships until early 2020 or so.
Now as for pricing and fuel economy information for either well.
We're just gonna have to wait until a little closer to when they actually get to dealerships.
